The first 2027 rankings were released on Monday with over 60 players making up the list. The last couple of days have been filled with positional breakdowns with the point guard, combo guard and small forward positions, respectively. This article will talk about the shooting guard position after their debut varsity season.

New Additions

[player_tooltip player_id='2347935' first='Keyshawn' last='Franklin'], Eastern: Franklin made an impact on the Vikings' roster as he helped them to a 26-5 record and an appearance in the sectional final. He has a good handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish around the basket. Franklin can also score in the mid-range and is a strong rebounder for a guard. Franklin is a solid defender, which will help his stock in a big way this spring and summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2344525' first='George' last='Bell'], 6'2 Egg Harbor: Bell shouldered the scoring role in his debut varsity season and had big moments for the Eagles, including a 24-point performance on opening night. The 6'2 guard has a nice release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Bell is more than just a shooter as he can also get into the paint off the dribble and finish around the basket. He had 19 games with at least 10 points and should raise that number in 2024-25.

[player_tooltip player_id='2347936' first='Devin' last='Williams'], Eastern: Williams is the second Viking on the list as he also contributed to their 26-5 record. He has a clean shooting stroke as he wastes little motion and sets his feet before he shoots. Williams moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers in the halfcourt. He plays good on-ball defense and should continue to rise his stock during the AAU season with his ability to stretch the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2344530' first='Noah' last='Perna'], 6'0 Southern: Perna had a big freshman season for the Rams as he averaged nearly 14 points and 7.5 rebounds a game. The 6'0 guard has deep range on his jumper and shoots the ball with confidence from behind the arc. Perna is more than just a shooter as he can also score in the mid-range and finish through contact. He is a strong rebounder for a guard and moves his feet on the defensive end. Perna's ability to stretch the floor is something that will help his stock over t he next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2379631' first='Christian' last='Brown'], 5'10 Matawan: Brown had a solid debut season as he provided the Huskies with shooting on the perimeter. The 5'10 guard has a good release on his jumper and rarely forces jumpers from behind the arc. Brown moves well without the ball in his hands and finds his open teammates in the halfcourt. Brown's ability to run the offense is something that will help his development in a big way this spring and summer.

Stock-Risers

[player_tooltip player_id='2202021' first='Aidan' last='Carter'], 6'3 St. Thomas Aquinas: Carter made an impact for the Trojans in 2023-24 and is looking to carry over his success in the AAU season. The 6'3 guard has a nice handle, which he uses to get into the lane and knows how to finish around the basket. Carter uses his size to see over his defender and finds open teammates in the halfcourt. Carter has the ability to run the offense, which will help his game in a big way over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2202020' first='Avery' last='Lynch'], 6'5 St. Rose: Lynch stepped up in a big way for the Purple Roses as he scored over 200 points for them in their 29-2 season. The 6'5 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Lynch is more than just a shooter as he can also get to the rim off the bounce and finish through contact. He has the length to defend multiple positions, which gives him the potential to breakout this AAU season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2203813' first='Neel' last='Sappidi'], 6'1 Pingry: Sappidi has the ability to make an impact this offseason with his handle and finishing ability. The 6'1 guard can get into the lane off the bounce and can also finish through contact. Sappidi is a solid rebounder and is unselfish with the ball in his hands. His unselfishness combined with his scoring will help his stock in a big way.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201963' first='Antonio' last='Tristani'], 6'1 Bergen Catholic: Tristani has the potential to have a big AAU season with his ability to stretch the floor. The 6'1 guard has a good shooting stroke and sets his feet before he shoots. Tristani moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers in the halfcourt. He is an underrated defender and works hard for rebounds. Tristani is a sharpshooting guard prospect whose ability to torch the nets will help his stock in a big way this AAU season.
