JD Bowden JD Bowden 6’1″ | PG United Faith Christian Academy | 2025 State NC is probably one of the biggest stock risers as he moves from No. 183 to No. 25 following a productive season with United Faith Christian Academy which saw them make it to the NCISAA State Title game. He’s a high-level point guard prospect to keep eyes on given his pedigree for playmaking. He produced 16.6 PPG, 6.5 APG, 4.3 RPG and 1.6 SPG for the Falcons on 50 percent shooting from the floor and 35 percent from behind the arc on the year. He’s due for a big summer on the grassroots scene with Team Curry following his All-State season. Western Carolina has offered him.
Chance Gladden Chance Gladden 6’4″ | CG Ravenscroft | 2025 State NC had himself quite the season in leading the Ravenscroft School backcourt in 2023-24. He’s a bonafide Division I prospect to track now after he set the single-season scoring mark (57 points) and turned heads at this year’s John Wall Holiday Invitational. He makes things seem effortless with his ability to attack the painted area and make things happen off the bounce.

Justice Mitchell Justice Mitchell 6’6″ | SF Clayton | 2025 State NC is another name trending in the upward direction following a productive season at Clayton High. He took home the PH Greater Neuse River Player of the Year award. The Comets won their conference tournament championship and made a deep run in the NCHSAA State Playoffs after Mitchell posted 19.7 PPG, 10.1 RPG, 2.4 APG and 1.1 BPG on the season. He’s a 6-foot-6 forward prospect who showed he could operate inside and out with ease on both ends of the hardwood in 2023-24. DI and DII programs would be wise to check him out with Team Wall this grassroots cycle.

One of the more underrated shooters in the state, MJ Williams MJ Williams 5’10” | SG Farmville Central | 2025 State NC is part of the Farmville Central dynasty as they look to win yet another state title in their sixth appearance in the NCHSAA 2A State Title game. He’s quite the sharpshooting threat in the Jaguars’ backcourt with a ton of confidence as a scorer and playmaking threat. DI and DII programs would be wise to check him out this summer with Team Trezz .
Israel Eatman Israel Eatman 6’4″ | CG Green Level | 2025 State NC is another big riser in the latest rankings update as he moves from No. 220 into the 34th spot following a 29-2 record with Green Level. He was the second-leading scorer on the squad with 15.6 PPG to go along with 3.8 RPG, 2.3 APG and 1.5 SPG on the year. He shot 58 percent from the field and 51 percent from 3-point land on the year in leading their backcourt next to Isaac Ericksen Isaac Ericksen 6’8″ | SF Green Level | 2025 State NC . He’s slowing growing into a DI/DII prospect for programs in the region to get to know.

Najai Hines Najai Hines 6’9″ | C South Garner | 2025 State NC made quite the impact at South Garner High in his first full year on the varsity squad. He was a double-double machine in the frontcourt, averaging 14.0 PPG, 12.0 RPG and 3.2 BPG while recording 14 double-doubles in 2023-24. He’s got a bright future ahead of him on both the hardwood and football field going forward with the Titans.

Jay Powell Jay Powell 6’3″ | SF Hickory | 2025 State NC was pivotal piece in Hickory’s run in this year’s NCHSAA State Playoffs as he put up 9.9 PPG, 2.4 RPG and 1.8 APG on the year. He’s a versatile presence at 6-foot-3 who’s shown he can knock down shots on the perimeter and make plays off the bounce as he moves up to No. 70 in the latest rankings update. DII programs in the region would be wise to get eyes on him.
