The Friday Metro Combo. You can start with the 5pm tip between 18-win Higher Ground Academy led by Abdiaziz Abdi who plays at Minneapolis Edison led by Deidrick Taylor Deidrick Taylor 5'10" | PG Thomas Edison | 2024 State MN who is scoring over 28 points a game for Edison! Taylor is worth your time and then after that game you can likely head to many places to catch another full game. I say…..
Orono at Benilde-St Margaret’s would be a good option. It’s a fairly quick drive and you can see Brady Wooley Brady Wooley 6'9" | C Orono | 2025 State #187 Nation MN (just returned to action from a broken elbow) against Jalen Wilson Jalen Wilson 6'8" | PF Benilde-St. Margaret's | 2025 State #230 Nation MN inside, you can watch Nolan Groves Nolan Groves 6'4" | CG Orono | 2025 State #259 Nation MN against Jaleel Donley Jaleel Donley 6'1" | PG Benilde-St. Margaret's | 2025 State MN in the backcourt (another junior match-up), and then see seniors Ron Lee and Riley Nelson Riley Nelson 6'2" | SG Orono | 2024 State MN do some great two-way stuff for their teams.
Weekend’s Best. The top game of the weekend is at Tonka tonight. It’s that fantastic Lake Conference battle between Tonka and Hopkins, both top five teams in Class AAAA. In the first game Tonka was down at the half by 23 and came back to win 103-101.
The first time around Greyson Uelmen Greyson Uelmen 6'2" | PG Minnetonka | 2024 State MN and Jordan Cain Jordan Cain 6'3" | SF Minnetonka | 2024 State MN both had 30 for the Skippers while Andy Stefonowicz Andy Stefonowicz 6'2" | PG Minnetonka | 2024 State MN had 19 and Isa El-Amin Isa El-Amin 5'7" | PG Minnetonka | 2025 State MN had 11. Cain has not played in three weeks though so if he’s out again that production will have to be replaced. Anthony Smith Anthony Smith 6'0" | CG Hopkins | 2025 State MN had 32 in the first game with Jayden Moore Jayden Moore 6'0" | PG Hopkins | 2026 State MN scoring 25, Tyson Moore Tyson Moore 6'0" | SG Hopkins | 2025 MN scoring 18 and JJ Semanko JJ Semanko 6'4" | SF Hopkins | 2025 State MN putting up 11. Kayden Wells Kayden Wells 6'6" | PF Minnetonka | 2024 State MN and Davie Hart had quiet games the first time around, if one of them has a bigger game tonight that could be the ex-factor. With Cain out the Skippers will really need Wells to play better.

Both Nevis and Spring Grove have been top ten teams this year and both are favorites in their section.
