February is finally here, meaning county tournament play is in full swing. The Union County Tournament is about to start and will be filled with high level guard play. Here are the guards to watch in the Union County Tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='1153987' first='London' last='Carson'], 6'4 CG Elizabeth 2024

Carson has powered the Minutemen throughout the season as he's led them to a 14-2 record. The 6'4 guard explodes off the floor for dunks and can finish through contact. Carson rises up with confidence on his jumper and can make opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and uses his athleticism to make plays on the defensive end. Carson is an athletic guard prospect who should light up the scoreboard during the county tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='1411630' first='AJ' last='Altobelli'], 5'11 PG Union Catholic 2025

Altobelli orchestrates the Vikings' attack as he has made big plays for them over the course of the season. The 5'11 guard has a tight handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finishes in a variety of ways around the rim. Altobelli plays with great floor vision as he threads passes to open teammates in the halfcourt and rarely gets rattled by on-ball pressure. He also has the ability to play off the ball and uses his quick hands to get deflections on defense. Altobelli is a true point guard prospect who will be leading Union Catholic's offense throughout the month of February.

[player_tooltip player_id='2344521' first='Micah' last='Gordon'], 5'9 PG Plainfield 2027

Gordon has had a stalwart debut varsity season as he's averaging 19 points per game. The 5'9 guard is a blur in the open floor as he uses his speed to blow by his defender and finish around the basket. Gordon can also score in the mid-range and has a smooth release on his jumper. He is a good passer and slides his feet on the defensive end. Gordon is a dynamic lead guard prospect who should continue his strong play in the Union County Tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='1213555' first='Nas' last='Robinson'], 5'9 PG Linden 2024

Robinson has been a key part of the Tigers' attack over the last three seasons and should do so again in the county tournament. The 5'9 guard is electric with the ball in his hands as defenders struggle to keep him out of the lane. Robinson can score in a variety of ways around the basket and shoots the ball with confidence from behind the arc. Robinson is a crafty guard prospect who should continue to put up big numbers over the next couple of weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595673' first='Jalen' last='Grant'], 6'0 PG Roselle Catholic 2026

Grant has the potential to have a big county tournament with his ability to score inside and out. The 6'0 guard uses his handle to blow by his defender and can finish through contact. Grant is more than just a slasher as he has a nice release on his jumper and sets his feet before he shoots. He makes good decisions with the ball in his hands and plays tough on-ball defense. Grant is a tough, lead guard prospect who should make plays on both ends of the floor throughout the month.
