Tyshawn Pearson Tyshawn Pearson 6'0" | CG Westfield | 2025 State NJ proved to be an effective two way lead guard for this year’s Westfield squad. Averaging 11.0 PPG, the combo guard displayed his ability to put pressure on the rim— taking his defender off the dribble and finishing at the rim. Defensively, Pearson displayed his ability to be a tenacious POA defender and pressure the ball out on the perimeter. Along side his 11.0 PPG average, Pearson also averaged 2.7 SPG.

Pearson is a quick and shifty guard who seems to be everywhere at once making game-changing plays. His ability to get the rim is his strength as he seems to always find ways to get the rim with or without the basketball. Pearson makes excellent cuts to the rim at the right time and can go with the scoop up and under layup to fool defenders looking to block his shot. His crossover is how he creates space off the dribble using his speed to get by most perimeter defenders.

Pearson is an all-around combo guard. He has great vision and makes smart passes to get his teammates open shots. He can weave in and out in the heart of defenses with his tight handles to set up plays. Pearson also plays under control and can take command of the offense when he needs to. His ability to move without the basketball and to know when to cut to the rim is just more of what makes him a smart basketball player. He’s crafty around the rim and can hit the three if you give him open space. Pearson even had 10 steals in a game this year.
