Here were the Freshman and sophomore Guard Standouts from the week
Peyton Lubash Peyton Lubash 5'9" | PG San Tan Charter | 2027 State AZ San Tan Charter (Pictured)
One of the the top scoring freshman lead guards in the AIA was a little off in the semis but came up roses in the Finals. He is a three level scorer who has the floater game after he gets by his defenders with his super tight handle and speed with the ball. He can hit the three from the parking lot off the dribble or catch and he is also a very good passer.
Mason Magee Mason Magee 6'0" | PG Basha | 2026 State AZ Basha
A defensive PG is electric in the open court. He is fast to get downhill with speed drives using either hand. He scores with runners, threes off the catch and euro moves. He also hit a three at the buzzer to end the half dribbling at full speed and stopping on a dime. He makes every read to make plays for his team. His on-ball defense is stifling versus some of the top ball handlers and plays with some serious swag.
Khalil Lias Khalil Lias 6'3" | SG Eduprize | 2026 State AZ Eduprize
An athletic bigger guard is a warrior on the defensive end. He collects steals in bunches with his length and quick twitch, which usually leads to layups or impressive dunks on the other end. The faster the game is, the better off he is.
Kaden House Kaden House 6'3" | CG Desert Mountain | 2026 State AZ Desert Mountain
A scoring combo guard is a three level scorer. He can pull-up from mid-range off the dribble, hit the three off the catch and his initial first step is hard to stop. He works well off the pick and roll game and gets to the FT line better then most in state. He will block shots with his length and athleticism. He scored 29 points.
Kalek House Kalek House 6'2" | CG Desert Mountain | 2026 State AZ Desert Mountain
A combo guard who plays on or off the ball just as effectively. His skill seems to be evolving with his high level mid-range pull-ups, catch threes, scores in transition and takes a bump well in the paint. He is very good on the ball defensively and moves the ball to the open teammate. He scored 22 points.
Javon Bardwell Javon Bardwell 6'4" | SG Desert Mountain | 2027 State AZ Desert Mountain
A highly talented bigger guard scores it form all levels. He can pull-up off the dribble from the three, rise up high and use the floater and catch the alley-oop to dunk it effortlessly. He is pound for pound the best rebounder in the freshmen class and his length and athleticism makes it hard to score on him.
Will Gordon Will Gordon 6'2" | CG San Tan Charter | 2026 State AZ San Tan Charter
A bigger scoring combo guard who has a tighter handle to get in smaller spaces. He is hyper athletic to rebound the ball, he can hit the catch three, speed dribble to rim, hit from mid-range, scores on driving layups and put backs off the glass. He will even come over and block a shot.
Kristo Jackson Kristo Jackson 6'2" | SG San Tan Charter | 2026 State AZ San Tan Charter
A thicker framed defensive guard is very tough on the ball using his athleticism, size and length. He can score with the catch threes, ball fakes and make layups in traffic, drive down the lane or euro step to the rim.
