Asemota is playing with Run the Citi this weekend at the Phenom Hardwood Classic. Jason, a Baylor Commit, is one of the higher-ranked players in Bermuda Run this weekend, and he played like it Saturday. In a late afternoon win, Jason got deep into his bag scoring on a sequence of beautiful pull-up mid-range jump shots. He can also make his presence felt on the defensive end, protecting the rim and altering shots just due to his proximity to the play. Asemota has a tantalizing physical frame, and it will be interesting to see what type of role he can carve out for himself once he arrives in Waco.

We all know his name, but this was my first time seeing him in person. The Baylor showed his ability to relocate to the spot for an open shot. Consistently hit the signature, “Dirk fadeaway” from the post. The young man gave a player three shimmy shakes in the post passing out of the double. He uses facial expressions to communicate on offense when signaling the mismatch. Physicality is the name of his game.
