1K Club – Celebrating the Newest 1,000 Point Scorers Pt. 4

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's only normal to see many eclipse the one thousand point threshold over their high school careers, and we've had plenty of guys achieving that this season. With it being such an achievement to accomplish, we decided to take a look at some of the newest members of the club this year. More articles will be coming in order to celebrate everyone, but DM me at v_taylor3 on Twitter to nominate an athlete to recognize!</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1373705' first='Cam' last='Flippen']</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Flippen has been a key contributor at TBS for years now since he was a freshman, and even though he's become part of a more balanced rotation, it was great to see him score his 1000th point earlier in the month. He's a versatile scorer and playmaker who is a scholarship level guy for someone next year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1280878' first='Antonio' last='McKoy']</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>McKoy has torn southeastern North Carolina up in his just under two seasons, scoring 22 PPG this year so far. He's an electrifying downhill threat who can play above the rim with posterizing dunks, but also just bullies opponents to get what he wants at the rim or in the mid-range.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1672429' first='Cameron' last='Newman']</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Newman has been an impact player for Gaston Christian since he's started high school, and the sophomore is a deserving member of the 1K club. Despite his slim stature and height, he's a handful for defenders to stay in front of, with his ability to worm through the paint and either score or find teammates.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1226603' first='Tre' last='McKinnon']&nbsp;</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>McKinnon has become a LM-MM D1 prospect to monitor in the state, and his eclipsing of one thousand points early in February only cements that fact even more. His ability to attack the rim with power, knock down jumpers, and operate in the in-between area makes him a scoring wing to love. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1163509' first='Javian' last='Drake']</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Drake has been a consummate member of his Richmond County squad for all four years, and it's paid off with him finally reaching the one thousand point mark. He's a scoring point guard that has been able to knock down perimeter shots all season long. Worth a next level opportunity.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1744976' first='Kellen' last='Karr']</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The jumbo playmaking guard has scored in bunches for North Lincoln, and finally has hit the 1,000 point mark as a junior. He's an elite shooter that brings insane offensive versatility with his ability to set up others as well as score over defenders himself.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1226601' first='Jiyoun' last='Williams']</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Williams is one of the best players in the eastern part of the state right now, and his 1,000 point accomplishment just a few days ago shows it. An incredibly physical downhill driver, he can attack the rim and put pressure on it either at the rim or above it.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1120961' first='Kayleb' last='Coles']</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Coles is a versatile, physical wing that can make a splash somewhere at the D2 or D3 level next season, and has shown off his scoring chops by hitting the 1K threshold just the other day. He's able to shoot it, drive it, or score on the low block with great touch and size. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
