<p>This was a little bit lighter of a Tuesday slate than normal as teams get back into their routine to begin the new year. However, we still had plenty cover from across the state. <p>It shouldn't be shocking that the Westfield and Mt. Vernon (Fortville) game was played to a very low score. Both teams are methodical offensively and very sound defensively. However, this one was still lower scoring than anyone could have imagined. It was tied 6-6 after one quarter and the Marauders took a 19-12 lead into the locker room at the half. Then, Westfield began the second half on a 9-0 run to climb on top, but Mt. Vernon responded and led 28-25 after three quarters. 6'8" senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2079499' first='Nic' last='Book'] took over down the stretch scoring 10 of his game-high 14 points in the fourth quarter as the Shamrocks came away with a 41-30 victory. Book also had 5 assists. [player_tooltip player_id='1561435' first='Julien' last='Smith'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1539552' first='Tanner' last='Teschendorf'] each scored 10 points in the loss for the Marauders.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1158215' first='Tucker' last='Day'] made his return to the hardwood on Tuesday night and ended up with the game-winning tip-in as Canterbury defeated Leo 67-65. The 6'7" senior forward finished with 23 points while senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1761696' first='Devon' last='Lewis'] added 16 points. Recent Grand Valley State commit [player_tooltip player_id='1272450' first='Jackson' last='McGee'] scored 35 points in the loss for the Lions.</p>

<p>Evansville Harrison defeated Evansville Mater Dei 79-49 on the back of 24 points from [player_tooltip player_id='1761697' first='Malachi' last='McNair']. Jay Summit added 18 points while [player_tooltip player_id='1578468' first='Shane' last='Sims'] had 15 points and [player_tooltip player_id='1539669' first='Brooks' last='Thomas'] chipped in 12 points. Zane Norman scored 18 points and Tanner Halbig finished with 15 for Mater Dei.</p>

<p>Class 2A #3 Providence beat Class 2A #7 Southwestern (Hanover) 55-42 with senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1287890' first='Noah' last='Lovan'] leading the way scoring 17 points. Jamison Miller scored 13 points in the loss for the Rebels.</p>

<p>Terre Haute North rolled to an 83-49 win over South Vermillion. <p>It took three overtimes, but Avon squeaked passed Brownsburg 57-56 to advance to the semifinals of the Hendricks County Tournament. Sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='1561685' first='Jedidiah' last='Minnett'] scored 19 points to lead Avon while [player_tooltip player_id='1539455' first='DeAndre' last='Lott'] added 12 points and both [player_tooltip player_id='1539998' first='Rashod' last='Bethley'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1297038' first='Isaac' last='Kramer'] had 8 points. The Orioles are now 8-3 on the season and will face Plainfield on Friday evening.</p>
