Midwest City made a loud statement at the PCI with three straight wins over good 6A programs. They were anchored by one of the best players in the state. Young was in double figures all three contests, including a 26 point outburst in the Bombers’ semifinal win over a big Union squad. The physically gifted guard has continued to refine his craft as a scorer. This was evident in the opening round win over his former school Putnam City West, with a variety of moves on off the dribble threes. And good footwork to avoid foes on drives to the rim.
Victory Christian picked up their second in-season tournament win. This time they continued to establish themsevles as the east side 3A team to beat by taking down a rising Cascia Hall squad. The physical senior set the one for Conquerors with a 28 point and 11 rebound performance. It’s this type of dominating performance that will be key for VCS to earn a trip to OKC in March. Which they’ll get a preview of a potential state tournament foe on Saturday, when they visit the 405 for a match up with Oklahoma Christian School.
The depth of Class 4A is starting to take shape, and sophomore Destin Edwards Destin Edwards 5’9″ | PG Community Christian | 2026 State OK looks to have Community Christian in the mix. He had a big showing, including clutch shooting at the Hinton tournament as he averaged 19 points a game. A heady point guard, based on the highlights videos it seems to be he’s becoming fully comfortable as a long range bomber at the high school level. He nearly shot 50% from three, while continuing to be a playmaker by averaging a little over 4 assists a game.
One of the top performances on Saturday in the state, Haney scored 40 points in a Konowa title game victory over Destiny Christian. The senior sharpshooter connected 9 times from beyond the arc as North Rock Creek improved to 11-0 on the year. The tournament run for the Panthers also included an impressive win over a fellow 4A state tournament contender, Madill. They now have a must watch match up against top Class 3A program Oklahoma Christian School on Tuesday.
Carl Albert’s run in December was a struggle for a program with as high standards at the Titans. But they have started the new year in style with three straight victories over 6A programs, including a big win over Broken Arrow in the title game of the Bartlesville tournament. The player who took home MVP honors for the Titans was sophomore lead guard Jayden Hopkins Jayden Hopkins 6’1″ | PG Carl Albert | 2026 State OK . The explosive, two-way guard is one of the very best sophomores in the state and now has some in-season hardware to back it up.
Bethany are another undefeated Class 4A team and their point guard is a big reason why. He was the hero with 25 points in the quintuple overtime game on Friday night. Then took it up a notch with 29 points in a 54-51 win over 5A program Sapulpa. Todd had a strong sophomore campaign but some of the eye popping stat lines he’s put as a junior are signs that he has elevated his game to an even higher level.

After a rough start to the year, Coweta claimed the Verdigris title to start the new year on a good note. Cooper, also a football standout, brings toughness and intangibles to the table for the Tigers. He earned MVP honors by averaging 11.6 points and grabbing 5 boards a game. After taking care of business with hard earned wins, Cooper and his Tiger teammates have a tough district test against Edison.
Closing this out with a look at one of the best players in Class 2A and the state, Garrett Scott Garrett Scott 6’3″ | PG Pocola | 2024 State OK . The senior lead guard is a blur end to end and a microwave shooter off the bounce. He’s now averaging 19 on the year, while the Indians rack up double digit wins with ease. Including a 30 point win over Kingston in the semifinals of the Kingston tournament, then a 23 point win over Marlow. Scott was awarded MVP honors and looks to have his squad ready for a second straight trip to the Big House.
