Continue ReadingHappy New Year! Here at Prep Hoops Indiana we are excited to begin the new year with a brand new series that will run “daily” here on the website. Admittedly, I’m not going to promise you 365 consecutive editions of this series, but we will come as close as we can here in 2024. What will Prep Hoops Indiana Daily entail? Well, that will change from day to day. Sometimes it’ll focus on under-the-radar prospects that deserve additional attentions. On other days it’ll serve as a recap of a recent event or series of games that our staff covered. It can even be as simple as some big picture thoughts or answering questions from subscribers. However, regardless of the content, it’ll have that special Prep Hoops Indiana touch of covering the entire state from border to border. We are excited to debut this new feature here on January 1st! Today we will highlight the teams who enter the new year with an undefeated record.
Cathedral (8-0)
Based on what they lost from last season’s team, Cathedral probably wasn’t expected to enter 2024 with an 8-0 record. However, Coach Jason Delaney’s team has been much more of a reload than a rebuild. 6’8″ junior wing Brady Koehler Brady Koehler 6'9" | SF Cathedral | 2025 State #199 Nation IN has had a breakout season averaging 18.6 points per game while sophomore wing Keaton Aldridge Jr Keaton Aldridge Jr 6'4" | SF Cathedral | 2026 State IN . has stepped into a primary scoring role as well averaging 16.4 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Juniors Lebron Gough Lebron Gough 6'1" | PG Cathedral | 2025 State IN and Deric Cannady Deric Cannady 5'11" | PG Cathedral | 2025 State IN have been strong two-way threats in the backcourt as well.
Danville (9-0)
Danville might be the forgotten team among the 10 remaining undefeated teams. The Warriors just rolled through the Gibson County tournament and now will play in the Hendricks County tournament beginning on Tuesday evening against Cascade. Indiana football signee Evan Lawrence Evan Lawrence 6'6" | C Danville | 2024 State IN is averaging a double-double of 12.1 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, junior Jace Scrafton Jace Scrafton 6'4" | SG Danville | 2025 State IN and sophomore Elijah Tricker Elijah Tricker 5'8" | PG Danville | 2026 State IN average 11.7 and 10.0 points per game respectively. This team is balanced and well-coached.
Fishers (11-0)
Losing a five-star national prospect is not something that most teams can overcome. However, Fishers is still one of the best teams in the state despite losing one of the most talented players in the country. 6’6″ senior forward Keenan Garner Keenan Garner 6'6" | PF Fishers | 2024 State IN has stepped up to the lead the Tigers averaging 17.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Dynamic freshmen guards Cooper Zachary Cooper Zachary 5'9" | PG Fishers | 2027 State IN and Jason Gardner Jr. Jason Gardner Jr. 5'11" | PG Fishers | 2027 State IN have been excellent from day one as well helping to fill the hole left in the backcourt. In terms of resume, Fishers has as impressive path to their 11-0 start defeating the likes of Ben Davis, Noblesville, Kokomo, and Center Grove who are all ranked in the Top 20 of Week 7’s Prep Hoops Indiana Super Poll.

He is having an excellent season including coming up big in wins over Pike and Park Tudor.
Lawerence North (9-0)
The Wildcats are ranked #1 in the Prep Hoops Indiana poll as they have collected wins over Top 10 Fort Wayne Wayne and Crispus Attucks to enter the new year unbeaten. Lawrence North is as balanced, deep, and talented as any team in the state of Indiana.
Richmond (12-0)
You can’t knock 12-0. Admittedly, the Red Devils haven’t played the toughest schedule to this point in the season, but that is getting ready to change in a hurry as they get into North Central Conference play. Richmond is a well-balanced group with Ryder Cate, Cedric Horton Cedric Horton 6'4" | SG Richmond | 2025 State #321 Nation IN , and Mason Carpenter leading the way plus a valuable scoring punch off of the bench from Braiden Hogg Braiden Hogg 6'1" | PG Richmond | 2024 State IN . At the end of the day 12-0 is 12-0 and Coach Billy Wright’s group is one that can compete with any team in the state of Indiana.
Tipton (10-0)
The Blue Devils have a big matchup on Friday with Maconaquah coming to town. Fresh off of back-to-back Sectional 39 championship, Tipton has their best team yet capable of making a deep run. They feature one of the best backcourts in the state with Nolan Swan Nolan Swan 5'10" | PG Tipton | 2024 State IN , Grady Carpenter Grady Carpenter 6'5" | PG Tipton | 2025 State IN , and Jackson Money. Swan leads the team in scoring at 20.0 points per game to go with 3.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
