1. Myers Park (11-2)
With two losses coming to Paul VI (VA) and Combine Academy National, the Mustangs look to be in prime shape for another run to the NCHSAA State title game. Bishop Boswell Bishop Boswell 6'4" | PG Myers Park | 2024 State #68 Nation NC , Sir Mohammed Sir Mohammed 6'6" | SG Myers Park | 2024 State #83 Nation NC and Sadiq White Jr Sadiq White Jr 6'8" | SF Myers Park | 2025 State #56 Nation NC are playing well together and their role players are stepping up as well. They’re 2-0 in the South Meck Conference as they look to win another state crown.
2. New Hanover (11-0)
The Wildcats are still unbeaten on the year at 11-0 and are currently 4-0 in the Mideastern Conference with a strong cast of juniors leading the charge. Rodmik Allen Rodmik Allen 5'10" | PG New Hanover | 2025 State NC should boost his stock tremendously over the next few months.
3. Green Level (12-0)
Another team in the NCHSAA 4A ranks that remains unbeaten, the Gators have already made a lot of noise in 2023-24. They’re 3-0 in the Southeast Wake Athletic Conference and this year’s favorite to win it all with Leon Tye Cain III Leon Tye Cain III 5'10" | PG Green Level | 2024 State NC and Isaac Ericksen Isaac Ericksen 6'8" | SF Green Level | 2025 State NC leading the charge for them this season.
4. Lake Norman (12-1)
The Wildcats are 1-0 in Greater Metro Conference play so far as Santana Lynch Santana Lynch 6'4" | SG Lake Norman | 2024 State NC , Trent Steinour Trent Steinour 6'10" | C Lake Norman | 2025 State #140 Nation NC and Tre McKinnon Tre McKinnon 6'5" | SF Lake Norman High | 2025 State NC are a few names to get to know for them. They’ve got a top guard as well in Nick Arnold Nick Arnold 5'11" | PG Lake Norman | 2026 State NC . They’ve got a big game coming up on Friday against Hickory Ridge.
5. Weddington (14-1)
The Warriors haven’t gone anywhere as a top program in the state as they’re 14-1 currently and 1-0 in the Southern Carolina Conference. Grant Hamilton Grant Hamilton 6'2" | CG Weddington | 2024 State NC and Kenneth Dwayne Younger Kenneth Dwayne Younger 6'4" | SF Weddington | 2025 NC are both averaging 20+ ppg and filling up the stat sheet as they look to make another run in the NCHSAA state playoffs.
6. North Mecklenburg (12-2)
The Vikings are coming off a big 98-70 victory over JL Chambers High to push their record to 5-0 in the Queen City Conference. They’re ready to climb up the NCHSAA 4A Rankings with Duke commit Isaiah Evans Isaiah Evans 6'6" | SG North Mecklenburg | 2024 State #17 Nation NC leading the way for them this season.
7. Davie (13-0)
Consider them a “sleeper” in the NCHSAA 4A rankings as they’re still unbeaten at 13-0 and currently 3-0 in the Central Piedmont Conference following a road victory over Mount Tabor High. Jackson Powers Jackson Powers 6'6" | PF Davie | 2025 State NC , Bryson Mickey Bryson Mickey 6'0" | CG Davie | 2025 NC and Coleman Lawhon Coleman Lawhon 6'1" | CG Davie | 2024 State NC have the War Eagles playing well so far.
8. Richmond County (9-5)
It’s hard to count out the Raiders with NC State commit Paul McNeil in the rotation, especially after their run in last year’s state playoffs. He’s a top scorer on MaxPreps as he’s pouring in 31.1 PPG on 53 percent shooting from the field and 36 percent shooting from behind the arc.
9. Wakefield (12-2)
The Wolverines have a strong cast of seniors led by Syncere Burnette Syncere Burnette 6'2" | PG Wakefield | 2024 State NC (17.5 PPG, 6.6 APG, 5.8 RPG and 3.7 SPG). They’re set to get Northern Athletic Conference 6 (NAC 6) action underway this Friday when they square off against Rolesville at home.
10. Holly Springs (11-2)
The Golden Hawks are another squad to keep an eye on in the SWAC alongside Green Level. Holly Springs is 3-0 with a big meeting against the Gators tonight which should give one or the other an early edge in the conference standings.
