Continue ReadingDazon Reid Dazon Reid 6’2″ | SG South Charleston | 2026 State WV comes in at our #10 ranked player in 2026. This wasn’t easy slightly ranking him ahead of one of his teammates, but as we ended the calendar year we liked Reid at 10. A few reasons, one he has great size, especially as only a sophomore, for a SG or CG. Two, he shoots the ball from deep very efficiently and you can see his teammates look for him. Three he does have the ability and eye of when to put the ball on the floor and great ability of finishing at the rim. But looking ahead and projecting him as a college prospect, the shooting from the wing is so valuable at the next level and so many coaches at all levels looking for it. We’d comfortably project Dazon easily at a D2 level after high school.
JoJo Greene JoJo Greene 6’3″ | SF Hurricane | 2026 State WV is our 9th ranked 2026 player and definitely an interesting one. Greene is so dynamic, lists himself as a wing which is a great generalization as he seems to play several positions with great fluidity and ease. He could look like a point-forward at times, look like a slashing shooting guard at times or a rugged swingman. He’s tough, skilled and plays downhill every possession. Greene is starting to get lots of notice outside of WV with publications and recruiting sites and for good reason, he sticks out the second you walk in the gym or when you put the tape on. He’s capable of doing so many things in a game or even in one possession. He’s so fun to watch from a pure basketball standpoint because he just plays and doesn’t seem to wanna pigeon-hole himself into anything specific in regards to position. Safe to say, Green will be a D2 level player and his future height could help it go even higher.
Coby Dillon Coby Dillon 5’10” | CG Woodrow Wilson | 2026 State WV comes in at #8 on our 2026 rankings. He’s below 6′ but his speed and sniper-like shooting make up for it. Dillon has been on the floor for his high school team enough to know he belongs in this top ten as Woodrow Wilson never shies away from top competition and Dillon has had many opportunities to prove his worthiness of this ranking. Dillon listed currently as a combo-guard will likely rate out primarily as a point guard at the next level, but will always have that ability to slide over and play off the ball because he shoots it so well. Id predict Dillon to be an all-conference MEC player after high school.
Max Olejasz Max Olejasz 6’6″ | PF Wheeling Central Catholic | 2026 State WV comes in at #7 on our list and our second ranked power forward. Now, we do know, Olejasz could easily transition to a wing and play primarily facing the bucket, but as of now with Wheeling Central he’s at the 4 spot and we’ll rank/evaluate accordingly. Olejasz is one of the new age PF’s who are multi-skilled and play several positions as needed. With his current size and likelihood of growing more, Max could rate out at more than one position but likely to be a big wing and that’s of high value at the next level. If Max can shoot the ball at a high rate by the time he’s a senior, with his size he’ll have alot of options at the next level, possibly beyond D2.
Highlights
Alex Starcher Alex Starcher 6’5″ | PG Teays Valley Christian | 2026 State WV comes in as #6 on the list but one of the guys several folks may not know yet. Starcher playing at private Teays Valley Christian doesn’t always get as much press, but his coach makes sure they play as good of competition as possible to get his guys ready for the next level. Starcher when you see him play is so smooth and fluid with either hand and has a very quick first step going either direction. Alex is efficient finishing in the paint as well as shooting from deep. A real scorers mentality with every tool in his bag. Starcher is easily projected at D2 and maybe beyond if he’s shooting at a high level in two years.
Highlights
Braydun Ferris Braydun Ferris 5’11” | PG Tug Valley | 2026 State WV comes in at #5 overall and the top rated point guard of 2026. Ferris started for Tug Valley as a freshman and starred for them in their run at the State Tournament last March. Ferris has a great skill set for a point guard complete with a knack for creating plays for teammates but also recognizing scoring opportunities. Change of speed and direction are the norm when Ferris has the ball and looking to create and/or score. He’s crafty, he’s quick and he’s always in control. Ferris certainly rates out as a D2/MEC player and with his scoring ability a great one.
Eli Sancomb Eli Sancomb 6’4″ | SF Wheeling Central Catholic | 2026 State WV comes in at #4 on the list and thus far for this season he’s earned it. Sancomb continues to pour in points every time out and help pace his team. The long and athletic shooting guard is a scoring machine in the making. Called by one college coach “a potential WV Player of the Year” due to his high level of skill at a young age, Sancomb certainly looks the part thus far. Eli has high level guard skills, shoots it with high efficiency and defends. Easily rating out to a high D2 level but with the possibility of going beyond.
Zyon Hawthorne Zyon Hawthorne 6’0″ | CG Woodrow Wilson | 2026 State WV is #3 on our list as well as the #1 Combo Guard in WV 2026. Zyon has had lots of evaluation from several different folks and what you can deduct from it is, he’s a complete point guard at a very young age. He has no real weakness or shortcoming on his game and has everything needed to be a complete player on both ends. Hawthorne has already received an offer from Division I Radford, but you can certainly expect several more.
Harry Silvis Harry Silvis 6’2″ | SG Parkersburg South | 2026 State WV comes in at #2 on our list and #1 ranking for shooting guards. Silvis is a true shooting guard in the sense he’s intense on defense and always ready to score when he’s getting the ball. One of the quickest releases for a youngster you’ll see and complete guard skills to compliment. Silvis got an early offer from Radford but we’d expect there to be more to come in next couple years.
Noah Lewis Noah Lewis 6’6″ | PF George Washington | 2026 State WV ranked #1 overall and #1 for PF’s doesn’t leave much to talk about that hasn’t already been said. Lewis dazzled as a freshman with outstanding efficiency around the rim and in the paint scoring and rebounding. A body that seems adaptable to college play almost immediately and a game to match. Lewis will soon work on the stretch part of his power forward skills and add value to his skill set. Talented enough to score from any level but rugged and tough enough to live in the paint and do the dirty work. Whatever he’s shown college coaches and scouts thus far has impressed as he’s already picked up a Radford offer after being on campus, and of course only being a sophomore you would expect more.
