Continue ReadingThis was my first week of high school hoops in the Central Ohio Area and I had the pleasure of going to 2 competitive games. On Tuesday night I watched Westerville South come back and gain their first win of the season as they beat Dublin Coffman 54-49. Then on Friday night, I was in the gym at Hilliard Bradley as they went to OT and picked up the 56-55 win over Upper Arlington. This article will talk about the Stars in Their Roles in these games.
Zach Corna
Zach Corna
Corna kept coming up big down the stretch on Friday night. In a game that was back and forth throughout he was getting big buckets late. He hit 2 major momentum threes in the 4th quarter along with a big-time layup. The junior guard showed some major confidence and no fear of the big moment.

Schmidt is a sophomore starter for Dublin Coffman and has some confidence in him. He is a shooter who is not afraid to let it fly. He has a quick high-arcing shot. He is always ready to shoot and is something you need to have as a shooter. He is always tough. He is tall and long but not the biggest player on the court but plays strong. You can tell he has a good feel for the game as well, nice basketball IQ on him.
Hodges got the game started on a hot foot. He came out of the gates with a lot of energy and in attack mode. He has sneaky-good athleticism and showed that by attempting a half-court dunk. He has good length which makes him an excellent defender. A dangerous guard in the open court, Hodges brings an athletic spark to the Wildcats.

Nate Schoeny
Nate Schoeny
Schoeny was getting the job done for Upper Arlington all game. He was playing bully ball all night long and came with great intensity tonight. Similar to his teammate Weston Gregg Weston Gregg 6’2″ | SF Upper Arlington | 2025 OH , he was playing much bigger than he was. He was talking the whole game and making plays. Getting buckets, rebounds, and doing the dirty work. He played some great defense too.
Clifton came off the bench for Dublin Coffman as a spark plug. He came in and played with his head on fire. He was getting turnovers, and rebounds, and doing all the dirty work to help his team. He showed a really good ability to move his feet defensively and stop smaller guards from driving by him. He always had his hands out and used his length well on the defensive end.
