While many are highly respected in their class, they went toe to toe with top players from other classes. Without further ado, here are the 2026 prospects that stood out on opening night.
Cameron Holmes Cameron Holmes 6'5" | SF Millennium | 2026 State AZ | Millennium
The 6’6 wing shot the cover off the ball against Paul VI. With all the physical tools you could ask for in a young prospect, it’s his ability to shoot off the dribble and the catch. He’s a good athlete who can rise above defenders at all levels with a clean, textbook shooting form. He handles the ball well for perimeter players with his size and at this stage in his development. Would like to see him attack the rim more, but when you’re scoring an efficient two points off a steady diet of midrange and long-range jumpers, you can’t be upset about it.
Ashton Pierce | North Mecklenburg
Pierce is a two-way guard who can force turnovers. His length and physical defense keep him on the floor, and his offensive skillset helps him produce. He’s a solid outside shooter who can use his speed to get to the while. Pierce has the strength and body control to finish through contact.
Jordan Smith Jr. | Paul VI
Smith is a physically mature athlete who did everything in Paul VI’s opening night win. He knocked down mid-range shots off the dribble, pushed the pace in transition, and made the right decision time after time. Smith has a high motor and will chase down shots in transition.
My biggest question about Constanza after his freshman year was his motor, and it’s no longer a worry. At 6’9, he can run the offense, make outside shots, and finish above the rim. He has a high IQ with the physical tools to match. Has improved his athleticism and strength since the summer.
