Not only does each of them play key roles for their teams, but their teams have been highly successful early in the season, combining for just nine losses on the year. Check out these stock risers who could be still playing when State rolls around.
Previous Rank: 10rnA long, athletic, sharpshooting guard, Petty was the MVP of the NPSL last year and has gotten even better this season. He consistently puts up points, scoring from 3-point and in the paint. He defends at an extremely high level and shows the next level athleticism to make impact plays on both ends of the floor. He brings it night after night and has Auburn off to a 9-0 start as they head to the Classic at Damien December 26-30.
Previous Rank: 34rnSeattle Prep has a lot of players showing high potential and Misra is one who has really taken off this season. He shows plus ability to create off the dribble, shoots really well both while contested off the bounce and spotting up on the catch, and has been better using his length at the rim to finish over and around defenders. He’s an explosive player and has performed against some of the top Metro teams early in the year.
Highlights
Previous Rank: 55rnI’ve been really impressed with his play this season and he’s been a key cog for Beach, looking like a knockdown shooter from 3-point, and using his slick handle and vision to be the ultimate playmaker for the Vikings. They are a super talented team and with Robinson running the show, they have a chance to be a real contender in the Metro and the 3A.
Previous Rank: 56rnThe 6-foot-2 point guard got off to a blistering start for Glacier Peak, averaging 31 points per game through their first four, and even putting up 49 points against Bothell. His jumper is falling from all over and he’s proving he can consistently hit the tough shots to be a true shot-maker for the Grizzlies. He’s always had talent but he looks bigger and stronger and has really blossomed this season as a rising guard in the 2025 class.
Highlights
Previous Rank: 105rnThe Mercer Island guard is a really interesting player deeper in the rankings who has all the tools to take off. His length is a key component of his game because a player that long, who operates that smooth can find his shot with little space to operate. He’s got great touch from mid-range and 3-point, but also shows the handle necessary to create some stuff to the hoop.
Highlights
Previous Rank: 108rnTalk about a kid taking his game to the next level, Dykstra has always shown potential as a kid who can shoot and get things done off the bounce, but he looks like a kid who found himself in the weight room and with a little added height has really taken off this season. He’s able to create more space, deals with contact on drives better, and continues to shoot at a high level, becoming one of the key offensive threats for the Lyncs this year.
Previous Rank: 110rnYou want your guards to play with the kind of approach Rivers shows. He’s a guy that will challenge whoever who he lines up against on both sides of the ball, has the burst and handle to blow by most defenders, and has some quick hands defensively to challenge ballhandlers and apply pressure all over the ball. He’s a tough kid who also has a great pull-up he can go to a lot because of the respect defenders have for his speed.
