These players all have what it takes to take their games to the next level. Here are my players looking to break out for the 2026 class.
Young can contribute to all levels of the game as he can use his 6’3″ size to play and guard multiple positions. He can get to the rim with his speed and quickness paired with his tight handles as he looks to seek contact to force more pressure on defenses. His midrange game is smooth with him being able to hit tough step-back contested shots. Young’s three-point shooting ability is consistent enough to make defenders think twice before thinking about how to guard him. On defense, he will pick anyone up full court and will look to intercept passing lanes.
Edgecomb is a patient player who likes to get his shots within the flow of an offense as he does not look to force any shot he does not like. You don’t need to run plays for Edgecomb because he is terrific off the ball when looking to get open for his shots and how he can affect the game in many other ways. His shot is high and quick and is automatic on the wings behind the three-point line. He rebounds well and can throw some impressive outlet passes on the fastbreak.
Kelleh has the potential to be an elite two-way player this season with more playing time and experience. He is already an excellent defender due to his long 6’2″ frame which allows him to cover a lot of ground and be a disruptor in the passing lanes. He has great instincts and reactions when looking to strip the ball away from defenders. On offense, he controls his body in the air well when attacking the rim making sure he gets the best shot possible. Kelleh thrives in the fastbreak because of his speed and ability to handle the ball under control.
Younger is a lockdown defender on the perimeter because of his great instincts and ability to intercept passing lanes. He moves laterally extremely well making it very difficult for players to get around him. On offense, he can control the midrange game well hitting open jumpers at a consistent rate. Younger is also able to use his shifty handles to weave in and out of contested defenses as he looks to hit his open teammates on the perimeter.
Russell showed his two-way ability last year and will look to build off of that success heading into this season. He can defend the team’s best perimeter player and makes it difficult for players looking to get past him. His offense should take a big step this year as he has a knockdown three-point shot. Russell will look to get his shots in the catch-and-shoot and will come off of multiple screens for him to get open. Look for Russell to have a much more improved season this year.
