With as many talented players in the state this season, it is important that we give you a list of names to keep an eye on for the season, which is what I will be doing with each position in the 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes. The point of my list is to give you a preview of some the players that are maybe overlooked a little, still on the college recruiting board, or guys in general that deserve to have eyes on them. With that said, here are point guards to watch for in the 2026 class this season.
Roseman has been a guard that I have been rather high on the past two years. At 6’0, Roseman is one of the best mid-range shooters and creative finishers we have in the state and is a player that can put up points in a hurry. With only being a sophomore, he plays with a style that you’d see out of an upperclassman and his high IQ with the ball is a standout of his. He brings back 14.2 points per game as a freshman and as he continues to grow as a player, those numbers are going to continue to increase.
Harris is a lead guard that I had the chance to watch play multiple times at the MIB Fall League and I became more and more impressed with him each and every game. As a lead guard, Harris is fantastic on the ball and does such a great job creating scoring opportunities for both himself and his teammates. He displays some sharp court vision and has proved to be a consistent three-level scorer with his speed on the ball and ability to create. He is also one of the more athletic guards we have in the state as well. Keep tabs on this guy because he is in for a breakout season.
Fountain is a strong point guard that is really hard to guard when he is getting downhill into the paint. He is quick off of the bounce, creates his own shot, and finishes well at the end of his drives. One of the “next up” guards coming out of powerhouse Carmel High School and will likely get some varsity time this season. Depending on how much time he gets, he could really breakout this season.
Highlights
Moore is going to be a bid piece and addition to a Kokomo team that is looking to get back to the state championship. After averaging 12.2 points and 2.8 assists per game as a freshman at Taylor, this 5’11” guard transferred to defending state runner-up Kokomo for his sophomore season. Moore is explosive off of the dribble and does a great job of finishing at the end of his drives. With Bidunga needing top tier guard play around him, Moore will be a lot of help and Moore will benefit from it, as well.
