2027 Watch List Release

It's an exciting time for the players on the list and it provides a possible glimpse into the future of high school basketball in Michigan. His feet and his balance are incredibly impressive. Backus almost glides on the basketball court and has tremendous body control. Calvin is very dangerous with the ball in his hands. He has nice straight line speed with the ball as well as an instant speed burst that puts his defenders on his hips and helps him penetrate the lane. He has the look of an extremely versatile scorer that can get buckets all over the floor from all 3 levels. Cast has what I'd call a controlled explosiveness that makes him a very tough cover. He has a nice skill set that points toward a lot of success as a point guard. The classic lead guard skills are certainly there - the ability to find teammates and get them the ball and the ability to handle in high pressure situations.
