A tall scoring guard, Wright has been an impactful shotmaker throughout the summer, capable of scoring above defenders. Standing right around 6’3, the guard can step into shot attempts over a contest or elevate at the rim for a finish past contests. His wide reach has allowed the guard advantages on contests, simply making it tough for smaller guards to get the shot off above him. Make no mistake, Wright is fairly quick laterally and with the first step, certainly an intriguing prospect to follow.
Wright has shown value on the interior, effective swatting shot attempts at the rim and staying active on the glass. The forward possesses notable upside as a defensive asset, adding much needed size in the frontcourt with Ralston Valley. His value rolling to the rim and drawing gravity away from shotmakers has a positive impact on the halfcourt flow. His role as a passing hub will be one area worth watching, given how well Ralston Valley moves off-ball.
Bringing a high IQ and consistent motor, Nesbitt tends to make a positive impact while handling the ball. Effective passing it under pressure or with space, the guard is quick to find an opportunity for the next play. Another area of value is Nesbitt’s willingness as a perimeter scorer, capable off the catch. Boasting a quick jumper, the guard looks to be a versatile offensive playmaker, certainly a pain for opponents. Equally valuable facilitating, Nesbitt does a great job handling the ball under pressure, staying composed at all times. It means a lot to stay composed versus quickly approaching double teams or contests.
Highlights
Land has been impressive with the Flyers throughout the summer, finding ways to impact winning through his grit and passing vision. Effective hitting cutters through tight windows, the forward is an especially dependable passer from the top of the key and high post. Other areas of value have been his physicality around the rim, effective vying for position down low for rebounds. Their growth along the perimeter will be especially interesting to track, following such a high floor baseline with his physical approach.
Highlights
Davenport should provide value through his efficient, complementary impact. Effective maximizing his opportunities off a closeout, the guard should be a threat away from the ball. On limited volume, Davenport has flashed spot-up shooting ability from behind the arc.
Samson has been especially productive with IBA this past summer, capable of handling the ball under pressure. Able to make quick decisions on the go, the guard has no trouble playing within a fast paced environment. Often seeking driving lanes from ball screens or following a poor closeout, Samson does a great job maintaining his value as a downhill scorer. He showed a balance between scoring and playmaking, active on kickouts or entry passes for post scorers. Samson’s ability to add strength will be necessary for his success against older opponents.
