Leaning towards reclassifying back to 2026, Fenderson holds two scholarship offers, but will likely see things take off once he makes that move.
“I have my mind set to reclass back,” Fenderson told Prep Hoops Wisconsin. “The 2025 class is stacked. I basically lost a year of high school basketball due to injury too.”
To Fenderson’s point, he’s currently a top 15-20 prospect in Wisconsin’s class of 2025. Move him back to 2026? He’s a bonafide top-five prospect, who’s closer to No. 1`or No. 2 than number five.
On Saturday, Fenderson took his first unofficial visit of the fall, checking out the Badgers during their homecoming football game against Rutgers.
“I had a great time at ‘The Camp.’ It was fun,” Fenderson told said. “It was a great experience to be on the Wisconsin field as a recruit. I just felt good about being there.”
Fenderson’s other scholarship offer at this time is from Milwaukee.
“It felt good getting one from the local team,” he said. “It was just a surprise to me. When I was at the camp, I didn’t think I was gonna get it. They said they wanted to offer me because my strength, toughness, and explosiveness.”
Iowa State, Illinois State, South Dakota, and Northern Michigan are all showing interest in Fenderson this fall. Fenderson plans to set something up with the Cyclones down the road.
“They’re planning on getting me out there for a visit soon,” said Fenderson. “I’ve just been talking to coach J.R. Blount. I heard they’re a good program.”
As a sophomore, Fenderson averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds per game for The Prairie School. He’ll be in no rush with his recruitment going forward.
“I’m looking for where I fit in and what school wants me,” he said.
