October 7th-8th I attended the PHH Prep Classic located at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ. There were 20+ prep teams in attendance over the weekend from OR, CA, WA, MN and Arizona.

Here were some of the standout 2026-29:

2026

[player_tooltip player_id='1685490' first='Patrice' last='Mpouli'] Hamilton

A thicker framed guard loves getting downhill and he can hit the catch three. He is a very good rebounder using his thicker frame. He will defend multiple positions and throws it down easily above the rim. He is athletic and skilled.

[player_tooltip player_id='1334752' first='Caden' last='Bass'] Paragon Science Academy

A bigger guard scores from all three levels. He has a polished mid-range pull-up and has deep three point range off the catch or pull. He smartly uses ball screens and has a good handle to get into the paint and then score or make a play. He has a nice runner high off the glass and uses the floater game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1297444' first='Kingston' last='Porch'] Eduprize

A long and lean wing who can score and defend. He hustles on defense for loose balls and plays the passing lanes. He plays way above the rim on the break with his long arms and the lefty can shoot the three. He is star in transition with his speed and athleticism. He often cuts and he is a sneaky good passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='994689' first='Noah' last='George'] Canyon International Academy

A combo guard is gaining confidence seemingly overnight. He can shoot the catch three and get to the basket with a burst. He changes speeds smartly to get downhill and uses his bigger frame and size to absorb the contact. He can pull-up from mid and makes good reads with the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1482217' first='Khalil' last='Lias'] Eduprize

A long defensive minded scoring guard who collects steals in bunches. He can dunk it on the break and hit the catch three when his feet are set. He is very good in transition and loves playing fast.

[player_tooltip player_id='2147242' first='Isaac' last='McNair'] Premier Prep Tucson

An athletic scoring guard can hit the three off the catch. He gets hot very quickly and is another who is very fast in the open court. He is quick on the ball defensively and uses his size and length to bother his opponents.

2027

[player_tooltip player_id='1834123' first='Mayom' last='Mayom'] Canyon International Academy

A fluid bigger wing can handle it like a guard and shoots it from all levels. He has a quick second jump to rebound and blocks shots in and out of his area. He actually had multiple chase down blocks. He can hit the catch three or shoot it off the dribble. He was raining triples all weekend long and one of the leading scorers of his team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1548525' first='Caron' last='Perez'] Hamilton (Inspire National)

A highly skilled incoming freshman is a very polished shooter off the catch. He can also put his foot down and get to the basket with a nice burst. He puts you on his hip and gets to the rim smartly. His skill and IQ will be seen most likely already on varsity for the Huskies.

2028

[player_tooltip player_id='1546987' first='Adan' last='Diggs'] Inspire National (Pictured)

A bigger PG is one of the top 8th graders in the class that I have seen. He can shoot the three off the catch or create his own off the dribble. He sees the court quickly and throws the dime. What impresses you is his motor on both sides of the court to rebound, contest shooters and even block shots off the glass. He has a quick first step to get by defenders and his fall away mid-range pull-up is almost a go-to college move already.

[player_tooltip player_id='2251687' first='Trace' last='Lopez'] Inspire National

A bigger forward for his size has soft hands and good footwork. He can be very physical in the paint to score versus bigger players with advanced post footwork. He can step out and shoot the three with a nice arc and has soft hands to catch tough passes. He rebounds well in his area.

2029

[player_tooltip player_id='2251690' first='Innocent' last='Onwo'] Paragon Science Academy

A thicker point guard who plays well beyond his years. The southpaw is skilled, strong and plays with a big IQ. He uses his incredible size to get downhill and to rebound. He can shoot the three with some range off the catch and Christian Polk has a good one here.
