Saturday night AOG, myself and Cedric Cobb hosted the 2nd annual Attitude of Gratitude Senior All-Star Game at the Phhacility in Phx. 18 players showed up and showed out in front of numerous college coaches from all over the state. I wanted to personally thank coach Lucas Ramirez of Suguaro HS and Trent Hill of South Mountain CC for coaching the boys up!

Here were notes about all 18 players

[player_tooltip player_id='1482164' first='Desean' last='Middlebrook'] Basha

One of the Co-MVP's does everything that you would want and does it the right way. He scored 10 points with 7 rebounds 1 assist and 2 steals with his long arms, plus athleticism and high effort. He works well from mid and in but can extend to the three and has a polished hook shot. He climbs the ladder for boards leaping above the crowd and always seems to be in the correct spot on offense and defense. D2 schools should be calling Desean.

[player_tooltip player_id='2432454' first='Sekou' last='Sackor'] Centennial

The other Co-MVP of the Sr All-Star Game was Sackor. He is another that lays it all on the line on both sides of the court with diving on the floor, collecting steals in bunches and rebounding and often it leading to transition dunks or tough layups on the other end of the court. He scored a game 17 points with downhill attacks and speed dribble drives. Multiple junior colleges went up to him after the game.

Middlebrook and Sackor earned the Co-MVP award.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552394' first='Andre' last='Tyler'] Higley

A D1 talent tied the lead in scoring at 17 points with high level of difficulty shots and a big bag from all three levels with threes off the catch or pull, long sweeping steps towards the cup, euro steps, mid pull-ups, offensive rebound put backs and high level dunks on the break. If he can stay locked in, he will have a fantastic college career.

[player_tooltip player_id='1763218' first='AJ' last='Harris'] Canyon View

A bigger wing forward who is oozing with upside and potential. He scored 12 points with low volume. He gets to his spots and he will pull-up from mid-range with high elevation, get downhill and dunk it easily on the break. He uses his size, twitch and length to rebound at a good clip. He is another that D2's schools should be reaching out to.

[player_tooltip player_id='2291974' first='Nick' last='Reber'] Highland

A bigger guard who can make plays for others plus scores it easily. He finished with 13 points with threes off the catch or pull, hesitation moves to get to the basket and uses his stronger frame to finish in traffic. He is deceptively athletic to throw it down and has the feel to make a play off of two feet. He did a rare class up and is looking for a D1 school or quality Junior College.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674067' first='Tyson' last='Cutchen'] Highland

A long and tall fluid post player from the East Valley did what every post player on defense should do. He rebounded the ball at a high clip with 10+ rebounds and blocked shots. He also scored with inside put backs off the glass with his nice lefty touch and he outlets the ball well. He scored 6 points with his 10+ rebounds. Junior colleges should be talking with Tyson.

[player_tooltip player_id='1900362' first='Colby' last='Jessup'] Valley Christian

A bigger guard can seamlessly play on or off the ball. His IQ, court savvy and pure skill were on display. He had the best shooting stroke from the three point line of the seniors in attendance and gets it off his hands effortlessly. He also sees the court to make a play. He scored 9 points and he is talking with multiple D2 schools.

[player_tooltip player_id='1598402' first='Johnny' last='Rios III'] Centennial

A quintessential pure point guard guided his Senior team to the victory. He scored 8 points with 4 assists and he always made the correct decision with the ball whether to shoot it from the three point line, drive it, pull-up or thread the needle to a teammate. His on-ball defense stands out with his quick feet and hands and colleges are taking notice.

[player_tooltip player_id='1445948' first='Brandon' last='Stapleton'] Chandler

A smooth bigger guard did not get a whole lot of touches in this game but showed his versatility on defense covering the point guards and wings easily with his length and size for position. He can hit the three off the catch and the southpaw will dribble drive to the basket with longer strides. He is very popular with college coaches around the state and out of state from all levels.

[player_tooltip player_id='1768202' first='Marquice' last='Cole Jr'] Hamilton

An athletic combo guard had some heavy legs on the night as he is in the middle of a top notch West Coast track meet where he is competing. He still showed his top-notch on-ball defense and downhill attacking abilities getting fouled multiple times with his aggressive nature. He is hearing from the local junior colleges and had a D2 offer in summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1620346' first='Josh' last='McManaway'] McClintock

A bigger guard showed off how skilled he is. Other than maybe Jessup, McManaway had the most skill in the Senior All-Star game. He shoots the ball from the three point line easily and has a nice mid-range pull-up he uses as he rises over the top of the defense. Junior colleges and non-D1 small schools should be calling him as his skill stands out.

[player_tooltip player_id='1736170' first='Kareem' last='Alkhalifa'] Pinnacle

A bigger wing forward plays within the flow of the offense. He can defend multiple positions with his size and length and fluidity in space. He will score with threes off the catch and get to the basket with a sneaky quick burst. He rebounds well and makes smart reads to teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='2330560' first='Braden' last='Miller'] Mesquite

A strong power forward with great size, strength and skill. He plays patiently with his back to the basket and will crab dribble and get to his spots to score it with contested layups and brings some toughness. He has some feel to make a play when doubled or crowded and rebounds well. All the local junior colleges should be looking at him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2625032' first='Donovan' last='Richard'] Mesquite

A wiry long wing forward with athleticism and a big motor. He has decent size, skill and he will rebound the ball in and out of his area with his sheer effort. He will calmly knock down the three off the catch with a nice stroke and get some points off the glass.

[player_tooltip player_id='1893708' first='Prince' last='Cash'] Carl Hayden

A versatile wing forward with strength and good size. He is aggressive to the basket and will rebound well in his area. He uses his size to get on the glass and is long in the passing lanes. He will shoot it from elbow and in and runs the floor well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1875434' first='George' last='Mihilli'] ALA-Queen Creek

A physical combo guard can play multiple positions. He has a great feel for the game to make players around him better and toughness to defend point guards and bigger forwards. He is a natural downhill player with his tighter handle and stronger frame he uses. He rebounds and gets assists plus collects steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674196' first='Kaleb' last='Bowen'] Mountain Ridge

A bigger sized wing started slow but picked up in the second half. He can score, rebound with his size and athleticism and has some feel to make plays for his teammates. He will throw it down on the break and score with put backs. He has that rare size with upside. He holds multiple small school offers.

[player_tooltip player_id='3134781' first='Karmello' last='Walker'] Browne

A strong framed thicker wing forward is a tough prospect who brings a physical approach to the game. He likes the contact and will attempt to get downhill with his girth. He gobbles up balls with a motor to rebound with his strong hands. He can keep improving his skill but he has tools and a frame to work with to get better.
