While there was plenty of that to see at the Top 250 this year, there was also a bit of a different feel. There were a lot of players attacking the basket and looking to get good looks close to the rim. Let’s look at some players that were attacking the rim at the Top 250.

Sanders did a great job going at the rim at the Top 250. His combination of strength and body control made him tough to stop. Sanders had a nice spin move toward the bucket that he finished over his left shoulder.
Highlights
Thomas was impressive at the Top 250. He was definitely at his best when getting downhill and going at the rim. Thomas had multiple athletic takes to the bucket.
Soriano caused a lot of talk about his game, both at and after the event. He was dangerous with the ball in his hands and showed that he was comfortable attacking the defense. Soriano showed blow by speed at the Top 250.
Kohler was very impressive in Grand Rapids. His ball handling was excellent and he knew how to use it to get to the rim. Kohler showed that he could finish on both sides of the bucket.
Washington showed the ability to get to the rim at the Top 250. He showed a nice shot fake that pulled his defender off the ground, gave him a step and helped him to draw a foul.
Demerell hasn’t been talked about enough after the showcase. He’s an elite perimeter player in the class of 2026. Demerell was excellent at finding even the smallest lanes to the rim and attacking them.
Cull had a tremendous day at the Top 250 and his ability to get to the bucket was a key part of that. He combined power and finesse when he attacked the rim. Cull was very strong when attacking off the baseline.
Highlights
Brazziel made a statement about his game in Grand Rapids. He was able to make plays off the bounce in traffic. Brazziel finished strong at the rim through contact.
Allen showed everyone in attendance what all the buzz is about regarding his game. He was so dangerous in the open floor. Allen was able to finish athletically as the lead ball handler and when filling in off the wing.
Johnson was a head turner at the Top 250. Opponents cringed when they saw him create a path to the bucket. Johnson was a ferocious above the rim finisher off both 1 or 2 feet.
Wicker caught my eye at the Top 250. He was so creative with the ball in his hands. Wicker created his own paths to the rim and found ways to score when he got there.
Highlights
Brock was a human highlight reel at the Top 250. He lit up Grand Rapids at the showcase and a lot of that was when he went hard to the rim. Brock could finish above the rim and through defenders using his elite combination of strength and athleticism.
Dugener rightfully developed a reputation as a knock down shooter this summer. But at the Top 250 he showed that he can take the ball to the bucket. Dugener was able to power up a finish through his defender.
