Allen could be in the running for a seat at the final table for Mr. Basketball. His jumper is really tough to defend and he can hit from anywhere, mid range to the volleyball line. Allen is explosive off the bounce as well and has proven to be a playmaker that can find teammates from the paint.

We’ll start with the obvious, Allen is one of the best in the state and he looked the part last night. His fall away mid range jumper was so tough. Basically unguardable at this level. Allen hit triples in all sorts of ways, from contested to off the catch to creating space with his handles and firing off the bounce. He also effectively attacked the rim with the ball. Allen was very impressive with his vision and decision making, which was especially evident with his plethora of drop off passes across the lane.

Allen had that superstar look in the month of June. If he can lead Wayne Memorial to another memorable season, he has Mr. Basketball final table written on his game. Allen has been electric with the ball, playing at a fast pace and creating scoring opportunities with his speed and handles.

Another name that may seem strange in an unsung heroes article. Yes, he’s flat out one of the best guards in the state. In the semifinals, he saw the matchups that were most effective for his Wayne Memorial team and he looked to feed those matchups, to the tune of 4 assists. In the title game, Allen shared the role of leading scorer.

– Received an offer from Oakland University
Oakland seems to know talented guards when they see them. Allen is a dynamic player that can make plays with the ball in his hands. He can put the ball on the floor and create. But he also has one of the most dangerous pull up triples in the state.

Allen has been a hot name in my articles as of late, but when you earn it you get it. He made a pretty big rise, but that’s what happens when you prove to be an elite player. Allen can create space and looks with his handles. And his jumper off the bounce is dangerous. Allen is very comfortable with the ball in his hands in the open floor.
