Goins is making the move to Wayne Memorial and he could be critical in their attempt to get back to the Breslin Center. With Goins in the fold, the talent is there. He’s a tall and long shooter that can get his shot off over the top. Goins is athletic as well, giving him the ability to use a shot fake and take.

Goins is making the move to Wayne Memorial and looked solid last night at the open gym. He’s not just a shooter and he made that evident. Goins got a bucket by rim running on a cut, catch and score. He also used a height mismatch by putting his back to the basket, going baseline and scoring. Goins can still shoot though, and he hit a couple 3’s over the top of defenders. He looked better and more aggressive on D as well. Goins used his length to contest shots.

A consistent standout throughout the spring, Goins was very good once again for The Academy Black at the Grit Region Finals. Ranked as the #86 prospect in Michigan’s Class of 2026, it is easy to see why the 6’5″ prospect from Wayne Memorial High School. He blends impressive athletic tools, length, and perimeter skill into his 6’5″ frame. Goins shoots it well from beyond the arc and shows the ability to change directions as a driver which makes him very hard to stop given his positional size and length.

A Top 100 Class of 2026 prospect in the state of Michigan, Goins had a big weekend for The Academy who went 4-0 on the weekend. The 6’5″ wing was incredibly versatile showing off the ability to shoot from beyond the arc, create his own shot off of the bounce, and use his length to score around the rim. He is one that college coaches will want to watch heading into the summer months.

A long, highly athletic wing from Flat Rock High School in Michigan, this 6’5″ prospect was excellent The Academy Black on their 3-1 weekend. Goins has a lot of very intriguing athletic and physical tools, but it was his ability to step out and knockdown some catch-and-shoot three-point shots that really got the imagination going in terms of his upside. He had a very good weekend all-around for The Academy Black 17u at The Stage.

Plain and simple, Cyrus can knock down the three ball. Standing at 6’4 with good length, he can rise up and shoot over anybody. Goins showed the ability to shoot off the dribble as well as coming off of a screen. Cyrus didn’t let a dry first half stop him from coming out and drilling big ones late in the game. Goins finished the game with a twenty point double double, something I imagine happens quite often. If he’s not already, get this kid on your radar, he’s going to be the man for Flat Rock next year.

Goins has really taken his game to another level this season. I don’t always track points scored, but he had to have had 20. Adrian made a 3rd quarter run, but Goins got hot from behind the arc and kept his team within striking distance. He even converted on a 4 point play when he was fouled on a triple attempt.

Goins is a very talented wing. Riverview defended him well, especially in the first half, but Goins was patient and found his openings in the second half. He played tough on the glass throughout the entire game for Flat Rock. Goins was able to score off a put back and at the free throw line. He even grabbed a board and took it coast to coast for a high percentage score.

Goines will have some playing time and scoring opportunities open up this season, and those of us that know his game well, know that he’ll take full advantage. Goins is an athletic shooter that can create looks at the rim with his smooth movement and balance. He’s also an explosive shooter that can catch fire from deep.
