The most notable name I caught all day, Menker was easily the top standout this week at the fall league. Impacting the game in a variety of ways, Menker was putting on a show in his hometown. Simply too big and strong around the rim, Menker scored consistently in the paint on drives and offensive rebounds. Menker also caught fire from downtown, running off screens and hitting catch and shoot 3’s when he was left open. After seeing the confidence he shot the ball with, I expect Menker’s 3-point percentages to go up as a senior after knocking down 27% last season. Mason has a lot of talent in this fall league and should be competitive in arguably the toughest conference in the state this winter.
Highlights
A new name for myself, Martin caught my eye with his athleticism and length on the wing. With his length, Martin got a couple putbacks off misses and even blocked a jumper. A capable shooter as well, Martin knocked down a handful of 3-pointers throughout the two games on Saturday. Showing some potential ball skills to create for himself, Martin is a prospect to keep tabs on down the road as he certainly flashed some intriguing potential on Saturday morning.
Another new name in the 2026 class from southwest Ohio, King was dominating the paint on Saturday. One of the taller prospects I caught, King scored on second and even third chance opportunities with consistency. His movement off the ball got him some open looks by cutting or running the floor in transition. With his size, motor and production, I’d expect King to get some quality varsity minutes this winter. If he can defend without fouling, he’ll stay on the floor longer this season, another name to watch in Cincinnati’s 2026 class.
Another new name, this one is a rising freshman in the GMC and found ways to contribute on Saturday. Playing hard will help you have a chance to make plays and Davids ran the floor and made himself available in the paint for a couple easy layups. His best finish of the day was a reverse layup off a drive and he also had an impressive lefty step through finish. Good to see such a young prospect gain this experience heading into his freshman season, he looks like a guy who will play a major role at the varsity level as an upperclassmen.
