Fairfield made a deep run to the regional final with an experienced roster last season. Those seniors have graduated which opens the door for a player like Davids to emerge as a key piece of their team. Davids is an explosive two-foot jumper who has the length and strength to score at the rim. Excited to see what he can show me offensively this season because he’s already caught my eye as a glue piece who plays hard, rebounds and does things that don’t show up on the stat sheet.

Davids has improved his quickness since I saw him last year at the fall league and had a couple defensive rebounds and steals where he took it coast to coast for a layup. Also scoring off BLOB plays and on post-ups, Davids was physical and aggressive on Sunday morning.

Another new name, this one is a rising freshman in the GMC and found ways to contribute on Saturday. Playing hard will help you have a chance to make plays and Davids ran the floor and made himself available in the paint for a couple easy layups. His best finish of the day was a reverse layup off a drive and he also had an impressive lefty step through finish. Good to see such a young prospect gain this experience heading into his freshman season, he looks like a guy who will play a major role at the varsity level as an upperclassmen.
