Prep Hoops Florida is your 365 day a year source for all things high school and grassroots basketball. This week we will be headlining the top uncommitted seniors by position. Today we will headline the top five shooting guards still looking for a place to call home for the next three-four years.
Jase Richardson, A 6-4 shooting guard remains one of the top uncommitted prospects in the position for the senior class. Richardson has a smooth handle and can impact the game in a variety of ways whether it’s his pure shooting from the perimeter or his playmaking to get his teammates involved. His effort on the defensive side matches well with his offense as he plays with a lot of energy and can guard multiple positions.
Herbert “Trey” Wilson is one of the top two-way players across the state and has contagious energy when he is out on the floor. He is athletic and runs the floor exceptionally well on both ends of the floor as well as considered to be an above-average rebounder for his size. The next step in Wilson’s game will be to have the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter at a consistent rate. Wilson holds offers from Hofstra and Old Dominion.
Chalier Torres, A 6-5 senior shooting guard has tendencies where he can score off the catch and off the bounce at a high level. He is also dangerous on the offensive end where he can finish on both sides of the rim as well as go get rebounds with the best of them. He adds a variety of tools on the defensive end where he can guard positions 1 through 4 at a high level with his impressive footwork out on the perimeter. Look for Torres to elevate his recruitment level as he gears up for his upcoming senior season.
Highlights
Randy Smith, A 6-4 senior guard who transferred from Miami Palmetto to Columbus during the off-season is a top-tier threat on both ends of the floor. He has a knack for playing unselfish whether it’s making the extra pass on the offensive end or reading the next pass on the defensive end. Smith’s game has grown into a key versatile role where he can score on all three levels or defend multiple positions. He also has a strong will to go get rebounds and force the opposition into taking tough shots. Smith will look to head into his senior season with a boost in his recruitment as he currently holds an offer from St. Thomas University.
