If Peyton keeps shooting like he did on Sunday, he’s going to find himself in the conversation for best shooter in the 2024 class. He was that good. On a very high volume of attempts, he was shooting at an impressive percentage to lead Germantown to a pair of wins over tough Whitnall and West Allis Central teams. He was running off screens at full speed and stopping on a dime to get his feet set to catch and shoot. That technique to square up and elevate for his shot in one smooth motion allowed him to consistently beat the chasing defender. In a close game against Whitnall, you could tell he wanted the ball in his hands because he knew he could make a play. Sealed the deal by grabbing the rebound on his own missed free throw and going back up for two points.

Germantown has a rock solid 2024 class to lead them this year, but also features a budding star in Cahlil Jones Cahlil Jones 6’2″ | SG Germantown | 2026 State WI . The 2026 guard is an athletic slasher who’s tough to stop when he gets a path to the rim. Threw down an explosive dunk against West Allis Central while converting on a handful of other acrobatic finishes across his two games. Has the ability to just hang in the air and contort his body to finish at difficult angles. Brought a ton of energy to the floor and was causing disruptions on the defensive end with his length and agility.

Myles continues to show strides forward in his game, particularly as a scorer. Without Whitnall’s top returning scorer in attendance, and playing with an inexperienced team in general, a lot of responsibility fell on Myles to create for himself and his teammates. With that he was having to take some tough shots, but really impressed with his ability to create separation to get off a clean jumper. Has the range to hit from beyond the arc but can also get into that mid-range game like his two older brothers could. Showed his elite court vision early on in the game and even dropped a dime with a full-court football pass hitting his teammate perfectly in-stride for a lay-up.
It took him a while to get going, but Yusef turned in a productive game against a tough Germantown team. His jumper wasn’t falling to start the game, but the young guard kept his head up and turned his attention towards getting to the rim. Getting two feet in the paint for some high percentage looks got him going, and both smaller guards and bigger wings had a tough time keeping in front of him. Outside of scoring, one thing that sticks out about Yusef is how good of a rebounder he is as a guard. Uses his long and lanky 6’4 frame to high point missed shots and immediately start the break going the other way.

There aren’t many players in the state with a more advanced skill-set than Ty. Not only is he a lights out shooter from three, but he has advanced footwork that allows him to make plays closer to the basket. Against Dominican he excelled at getting into the paint, playing off two feet, and pivoting his way into good angles to finish. Also had a nice turnaround jumper along the baseline after catching with his back to the basket. As a guard he can handle the ball off of screens, but also had some pick & pop plays that freed him up for some open threes. Had a big scoring game leading his team to a win.
Derrick had a big second half to make things interesting late against Stoughton. He has one of the quickest shot releases in the state, and it makes him so dangerous running off screens to catch and shoot. Whereas early in his career he was mostly a catch-and-shoot threat, he’s improved drastically off the dribble. He’s able to recognize a bad closeout or a chasing defender and put the ball on the floor towards the basket. Possesses a quick floater that allows him to not only finish over size, but also avoid picking up any unnecessary charge calls. One thing that sticks out about Derrick is how the ball never sticks in his hands. He makes quick decisions and keeps the ball moving.
Kevin Pittman
Kevin Pittman
Kevin is still raw on the offensive end, but flashed his ability to make an impact on defense against Germantown. He’s a pretty impressive athlete at his size, and uses it to his advantage to move well off the ball and put himself into position to make plays at the rim. Had some big blocks inside while also getting Germantown players to pass up on some looks inside that they may have attempted against smaller defenders. Showed he can get off the floor quickly at 6’9 cutting to the rim, catching, and getting up for a dunk with ease. Has all the physical tools to develop into a force on both ends.
