Kole put on an incredible scoring performance on Sunday, possibly the best I have ever seen in a fall league setting. The Minnesota Duluth commit scored 47 points, connecting with 13 shots from beyond the arc. Hanson could not miss and is so tough to guard with his ability to pull-up off the dribble in a flash. He was able to score on any defender that was matched up with him and knocked down some ridiculously difficult shots. Kole is definitely looking like a contender for the state’s leading scorer this upcoming season.

Jalen is an extremely efficient player and is coming off of a successful summer on the EYBL circuit. On Sunday, he showed exactly why he is ranked as a top-3 junior in the state, impacting the game in a variety of ways. His skillset is very unique with his ability to create on the perimeter or work down low in the post. Wilson also continues to develop as an athlete, as I saw him throw down a strong dunk in transition. BSM will be contenders in AAA again this year, as they return the majority of their rotation.
Jaleel was electric with the ball in his hands on Sunday. He is the definition of a playmaker and is always looking to create scoring opportunities for his team, whether he is scoring himself or dishing it off to a teammate. The junior guard was effective from all three levels, attacking the rim, pulling up in the mid-range, or knocking down threes off the catch. Donley will be fun to watch this season playing aside an athletic starting five for BSM.
I really admired the fire that Joseph was playing with on Sunday, almost leading his team to a win over a tough BSM squad. He was one of the primary ball handlers for his team, pushing the pace and creating scoring opportunities all game. He impressed me most on the defensive side of the ball, always seeming one step ahead. He was constantly jumping passing lanes for steals, where he could then cap it off with a finish at full speed on the other end. Mitchell could potentially lead CDH in scoring this season as a sophomore.

I knew what to expect when Ron is on the floor, as he can take over a game with his ability to lock down opposing guards. That is exactly what he did on Sunday, as he proved himself as one of the best on-ball defenders in the entire state. He can cause so much disruption for opponents, constantly applying pressure and forcing loose balls. He also continues to develop as a scorer, being able to attack the rim and pull-up off the dribble from deep or in the mid-range.
Brayden showed off what he can bring to this Holy Family on Sunday, holding down the painted area. He grabbed some contested rebounds and used his strong 6’8” frame to box out opponents well. He worked a lot in the pick & roll, converting on some opportunities around the rim. He also threw down a two-handed dunk off of an inbounds play. Carlson could be the missing piece inside for the Fire, surrounded by some solid guards and wings.

Sam Ngando
Sam Ngando
Sam was a pleasant surprise on Sunday, showing off his athleticism on a couple different occasions. The 6’3” forward is a gifted jumper and rose up for a pair of high flying dunks versus Holy Family. I really like his game and his ability to impact the game in so many different ways. He can score inside, being able to finish over larger defenders. He can defend positions 1-5 and can rebound the ball as well. Ngando will be a key piece for an Eastview team that has a lot of spots to fill from last season.
