BSM came up short against Hopkins, but I liked the way Ron competed. He’s constantly picking up opposing guards full court, and using his lateral quickness to pressure the ball. His motor just never seems to stop on that end, and he still has the energy to fly up the floor in transition or make plays in the half-court. Ron showed the ability to get to his spots in the mid-range and elevate for pull-up jumpers. He gets good lift on his shot making it difficult for taller defenders to get a good contest on. Explosive athlete at his size who’s been a consistent contributor for BSM this year.

Ron turned in a solid performance on Saturday, making an impact on both sides of the ball. He has proven himself to be a trustworthy ball handler and impressed me as a facilitator. He is very efficient when getting to his spots in the mid-range, being able to stop on a dime and get a shot off. Lee is also a lockdown defender and loves to play physically and with no fear.

Ron may go a bit overlooked at times on this talented BSM team, but his impact on both ends is substantial. Last night he was constantly putting pressure on opposing ball handlers, both forcing mistakes and just making it difficult for them to get into their offense. He has elite lateral quickness and the effort to match, which makes him such a tough on-ball defender. Offensively he’s no slouch either, coming up with some key makes in the second half when his team was trailing. Showed he can pull up from three or mid-range and knock down the open jumper. Finished with 11 points in the win.

I knew what to expect when Ron is on the floor, as he can take over a game with his ability to lock down opposing guards. That is exactly what he did on Sunday, as he proved himself as one of the best on-ball defenders in the entire state. He can cause so much disruption for opponents, constantly applying pressure and forcing loose balls. He also continues to develop as a scorer, being able to attack the rim and pull-up off the dribble from deep or in the mid-range.

Ron took over in the second half against JustAGame Select to help his team pull away and secure the win. He’s lightning quick, and puts that agility to use on both ends of the floor. Defensively he’s an absolute pest as he’s constantly pressuring the ball, and has no problem fighting over screens on the perimeter. Constantly cutting his man off and forcing him to get rid of the ball. Offensively he can stop on a dime for a short/mid-range jumper, and gets good elevation on his shot. Had success using his speed to get out in the open floor and finish in transition as well.

Ron stood out with his non-stop motor on both ends of the floor. In the win for BSM he was scrappy on the defense, applying constant ball pressure and forcing a couple of turnovers in the process. Has the lateral quickness to get right up under his man and move his feet to stick right on him. Offensively had the quickness to get to his spots for some pull-up jumpers, and also had success getting downhill to make plays as a finisher and facilitator. Looks ready to take on a big role as a senior.

Ron was a player I did not necessarily expect to take over this game coming in, but he did anyway. The junior guard averaged 5 points per game coming into their section final matchup, but was a huge reason BSM was in this game towards the end. He was flying around the floor, fighting for steals and loose balls that ended up being extra possessions for his team. He is lightning quick and had no problems finishing in transition at full speed. He knocked down a catch-and-shoot three-pointer and a pull-up mid-range jumper in huge moments for his team and scored all of his 10 points in the second half of a tight game. Lee was one of the most experienced players on the floor.

Ron Lee provided a spark off the bench for BSM on Saturday, as his quickness alone is enough to chance up a game. He’s one of those players who just gets after it defensively, and opposing point guards hate to go up against him. Ron is constantly pressuring the ball looking to make his matchup uncomfortable and force turnovers. On the offensive end he showcased a lightning quick first step to get by his man and make plays attacking the basket. Knows when he can get all the way to the rim, but also has the awareness to find an open shooter on the perimeter or pull-up on his own for a short jumper to avoid a charge.

Ronald had a nice second half for BSM helping keep them in the game against a tough Wayzata team. His constant ball pressure on defense was fun to watch as it sped the game up and made things unpredictable as you never knew when he was going to poke the ball free and give his team transition opportunities. There aren’t many guards with the type of lateral quickness who can sit deep in a stance and move their feet like Ron can. Offensively he’s a tough finisher with good body control around the rim who can also knock down open threes. Provides a second option to handle the ball for his team as well.
