So instead, I’m opting to break down prospects by area. Here’s a look at the top players in Bowling Green and the surrounding areas. For purposes of this article, we are only considering the 3rd and 4th Regions.
Unseld committed to Western Kentucky yesterday and should maintain his status as hometown hero for the Tops. Coming off a state championship last season and a runner up finish in 2022, there’s not a ton left to do for Kade except make another run to Rupp and play one last season being coached by his dad.
The Bowling Green Purples are the biggest hurdle for Unseld and the Dragons in the 4th region and Mason Ritter Mason Ritter 6’8″ | C Bowling Green | 2024 State KY is their beast on the low block. Mason’s best basketball is all ahead of him but for the next 6 months, his goal is singularly on getting out of the 4th region and getting to Rupp Arena.
Price had a good summer playing for Gateway on the UAA circuit and added offers from SEMO and others coming out of July. Ty is a big time shooter with deep range and probably the most valuable player in the 3rd region.
Decker is the preseason player of the year in the 3rd region and primed for a big season. An athletic wing who can shoot the three at a high clip or finish at the rim, Elijah has Ohio County as the preseason favorites to win the region.
Only a Sophomore, Watkins has a super high ceiling as a prospect but is prone to foul trouble. If DeAaron can stay on the court for the majority of games, expect him to average near a double-double this season.
One of the more underrated recruits in the 24 class, Glass is a do it all forward for Todd County and will look to get them back to the All A State Tournament in the winter. Long and athletic, Jamison’s best basketball is ahead of him.
Playing hard is a skill and in that regard, Lawson is a true difference maker. Sometimes overlooked due to his teammate Ty Price Ty Price 5’8″ | PG Butler County | 2025 State KY taking the spotlight, Butler County would not be in the position they’re in without Rice providing the low post presence and rebounding that he does.
Highlights
Elijah is the X factor for Warren Central this season. I know Coach Unseld loves him and thinks he’ll be a difference maker. If he and Kade Unseld Kade Unseld 6’5″ | SF Warren Central | 2024 State #252 Nation KY can partner together effectively, they will likely end their season at Rupp Arena once again.
The only 2027 player to make the list, Jack is a versatile scorer that is going to end up scoring 3,000+ career points for Grayson County if he stays on his current trajectory. Logsdon still needs to improve on the non-offensive aspects of his game but his ceiling is really high and he’s already the #2 player in our 2027 rankings.
