Below is a review of five teams from southeastern Pennsylvania that have impressed us during the first two weeks of fall ball action in October.

Archbishop Carroll

Many hoop heads believe this group of elite 2026s and 2027s are a year or two away from being a serious contender for the PCL title. Based on what we have witnessed this month, Carroll could be a legitimate contender this year. In the open court, this squad is unstoppable. Point guards [player_tooltip player_id='1608257' first='Ian' last='Williams'] and Darrell Davis (2027) push the rock for buckets or to distribute. Athletic and long wing prospects [player_tooltip player_id='1454254' first='Luca' last='Foster'] and Munir Grieg (2027) run the floor extremely well and play above the rim. Plus, in the half-court, combo-guard [player_tooltip player_id='1406770' first='Nasir' last='Ralls'] is a three-level scoring machine who is a match-up nightmare.

Bonner & Prendergast

Bonner's lineup features an absurd level of depth. As expected, small forward [player_tooltip player_id='1116025' first='Touari' last='“Deuce” Ketner'] and combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='1477716' first='Kevin' last='Rucker'] have been tremendous of late. Ketner's improved 3-point shooting has been a major development for Bonner's attack. Guards [player_tooltip player_id='1187903' first='Kyree' last='Womack'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1589139' first='Reggie' last='Selden, Jr.'] lead Bonner's transition game. In the half-court both guards can create off the bounce. Last second transfer Devon Nelson has provided knock down shooting from all over the court. As a bonus, 2027s [player_tooltip player_id='2419608' first='Kam' last='Jackson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2398422' first='Korey' last='Francis'] have performed above expectations.

Conestoga

Conestoga's perimeter firepower has been extremely difficult to contain this month. They typically play five guards who can all drain threes and create off the dribble for themselves as well as teammates. That lineup and style of play has been a match-up nightmare for opponents. The multi-skilled [player_tooltip player_id='1454262' first='Rowan' last='Miller'] is their smooth primary ball handler. Running with Miller are a slew of skilled combo / shooting guards in [player_tooltip player_id='1615188' first='Brendan' last='Styer'], [player_tooltip player_id='1750421' first='Benjamin' last='Robinson'], [player_tooltip player_id='2391381' first='Westin' last='Fryberger'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2224494' first='Cory' last='Hogan']. In addition to their high percentage shooting, this is a high IQ group that is constantly moving off-ball to create space or open looks.

West Philly

The Speedboys' roster contains a skilled group of returning players in shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='1466558' first='Brandon' last='Williams'], lefty point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1890563' first='Makel' last='Butts'] and combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='1406769' first='Jayden' last='McKie']. In 2022-23 that trio pushed West Philly to a Public League runner up finish and then deep into the PIAA state tourney. Stock rising wing [player_tooltip player_id='1850270' first='Abdrahaman' last='Coulibaly'] posted a fantastic summer, and that momentum has helped produce increased scoring efforts from him in October. Plus, West Philly has added transfer Umar Sabree to their fall lineup. Sabree is a multi-skilled 2024 prospect with three level scoring abilities. His speed and creative handles have also boosted West Philly's already impressive transition game.

Wissahickon

Wizz graduated their top two scorers from 2022-23, so opponents are expecting a rebuild season. However, with talented hybrid guard [player_tooltip player_id='2226405' first='Dom' last='Vacchiano'] leading the way, this team is significantly ahead of schedule and will surprise people. Vacchiano can drain threes and bully smaller guards. He is also a solid passer. So Vacchiano will find open teammates like high percentage 3-point shooter [player_tooltip player_id='1226518' first='Brayden' last='Ryan']. Wing Gabe Lassiter has shown this fall that he is ready to be a major contributor as well. If Lassiter can become a legitimate second option, Wissahickon will have a solid 2023-24 season.
