Bumpass is an electric guard prospect who makes things happen on both ends of the floor. He can handle the point guard duties while maintaining his ability to knock down shots or he can be a presence off the ball with his ability to get open for shots offensively. Defensively, he can guard the 1-3 spots given his length and athleticism and can defend the entire court with his energy and effort. DI and DII programs in the region would be wise to get eyes on him. He’ll be a new face to watch at Ben L. Smith High as he looks to lead them to a state title to end his high school career.
DeGraaf moves into the Top 100 at the 87th spot as he’s shown his development over the past few months. He’s shown he’s ready to be a leader in the painted area with his length and tenacity as a finisher around the rim, rebounder and a shot-blocking presence. He averaged 11.1 PPG, 8.8 RPG, 1.1 BPG and 1.1 SPG as a junior this past season on the high school scene. Bell is a strong-framed combo guard prospect coming into his own in the backcourt as an unsigned senior in the 2024 class. He’s a nice blend of creator in space to go along with a high IQ defensive presence when he’s locked in. He has an opportunity to turn a lot of heads as a DII prospect before it’s all said and done this season as he plays under control and to make winning plays. He looks prime for a strong senior campaign with a number of college prospects on the hardwood alongside him in the NC Good Better Best Academy rotation.
Solomon is a budding guard out of Willow Spring High looming just outside the Top 100 at the 106th in the 2024 rankings. He’s due for a strong senior campaign as a wing prospect at 6-foot-4 who plays with a ton of energy on both ends of the hardwood. He’s shown he can rebound in bunches, fly around to block shots and create off the dribble offensively as he heads into his final year of high school ball. He’s due to turn heads in the Greater Neuse River Conference in the NCHSAA this season as he grows as a DII/DIII prospect in the region.
Jones is due for a break out season in the Kinston High rotation heading into his final season on the hardwood. He moves into 110th spot in the 2024 rankings following a productive grassroots season this past spring/summer with East Carolina Elite. He’s a 6-foot-4 strong-framed wing prospect who can handle the ball on the perimeter and defend multiple spots on the floor defensively. He’s a budding name in the 252 area to get to know with potential as a DII prospect in the region. Look for him to turn a corner on the NCHSAA stage in 2023-24.
Perry is a new face who’s found himself off the Watch List and into the 2024 rankings just outside the Top 100 after showcasing his skills at this year’s PrepHoops North Carolina Top 250 Expo. He’s a wiry point guard prospect who’s active on both ends of the floor with his quickness and IQ. He was a Top Performer after multiple games after showing off his ability to get to the painted area and make things happen for himself and others in space. He plays a lot bigger than his size defensively given his knack for playing passing lanes and getting rebounds and pushing the pace. He’s an unsigned senior point guard for DII and DIII programs in the region to get eyes on at Carolina International School this season given his ability to lead by example with his play.
