Jay Anderson | Prep Hoops Scout
Perry is a name PH has managed to see extensively after he was a standout performer at the PH North Carolina Top 250 Expo this past summer. He was a big reason for the Victory Christian Center Kings’ run to the NCISAA 1A State Title. He took home first-team All-State honors as he posted a team-leading 13.0 PPG, 3.9 APG, also a team-high along with 2.2 RPG and 1.6 SPG. He’s a shifty floor general prospect who remains unsigned with a strong knack for making things happen at the point guard position at 6-foot-2. He’s a prospect for DII programs in the region in need of a winner to get eyes on after moving from 116th to No. 62 in the final rankings update.

Perry was outstanding as a leader for his Victory Christian squad last week at the Phenom Hoops New Years Bash, scoring 26 and 29 in their last two games en route to game MVPs in both. Really good scorer with a quick first step that makes defenders have to sag in on his drives. Can shoot it well but also attack a closeout and get to the interior to make plays. Really good at finishing over or through defenders despite not being the tallest on the court.

Perry is a big reason for Victory Christian Center’s surprise 7-1 start to the 2023-24 season. He’s producing 8.8 PPG, 3.5 APG and 2.0 SPG in the backcourt to set quite the tone for the Kings in the Charlotte area as they look to make a splash in the NCISAA. He’s a LM/DII prospect in the making the college coaches would be wise to get eyes on.

Perry is a new face who’s found himself off the Watch List and into the 2024 rankings just outside the Top 100 after showcasing his skills at this year’s PrepHoops North Carolina Top 250 Expo. He’s a wiry point guard prospect who’s active on both ends of the floor with his quickness and IQ. He was a Top Performer after multiple games after showing off his ability to get to the painted area and make things happen for himself and others in space. He plays a lot bigger than his size defensively given his knack for playing passing lanes and getting rebounds and pushing the pace. He’s an unsigned senior point guard for DII and DIII programs in the region to get eyes on at Carolina International School this season given his ability to lead by example with his play.

Perry has experience balling out in both Carolinas as he previously wore the uniform of Comenius School in South Carolina. He excels as a passer and also has a midrange jumper as part of his overall offensive arsenal. He primarily plays in the backcourt as a guard and can be described as an efficient playmaker whenever he is on the court. He has no problems getting his arms out to throw off an opponent’s shot as well. Defensively, opposing ball carriers have to watch out for him as he is a threat to steal the ball and create additional possessions for his team.
