Blakey is a little bit of a unique case in the fact that he was at LaRue, transferred to Taylor County and is now back at LaRue. Assuming he gets eligible, Landon can be a real difference maker for LaRue as he’ll give them an inside presence along with rebounding and shot blocking. The Hawks were already going to be good this season, if Blakey continues improving, he can make them a contender for a regional title.
Jakobi also is back where he started after he was a standout for North Oldham middle school, transferred to DeSales and then went back to North Oldham. McRoberts will likely be a starter and primary ball handler for the Mustangs this season. With his burst and athleticism, the 6’2 point guard can be a top 10 or better player this season in the 8th region.

Jayden is a player whose impact on the 2023-24 season remains to be seen. The youngest of the three Washington boys, there is some pressure on Jayden to stack up with D1 older brothers George (Michigan freshman) and BB (Florida Gulf Coast commit). I’ve not seen Washington play yet but it’s probably a safe assumption that he can shoot the ball well.
Gaines is one of many transfers into Ballard this season and the impact on their roster will be interesting to monitor as there are a bunch of new players and several play the same position. At 6’6, Cayon can play post or wing. He needs to continue elevating his skill level but he’s a big body and can provide some physical presence off the bench for the Bruins.

Harney had been the starting point guard for Beechwood the last two seasons before transferring to Covington Catholic this summer. This Catholic team will be on the smaller side and guard heavy but Cash should carve out a nice role for himself as a distributor. Harney is a good athlete and has good floor vision. He’ll definitely help a Cov Cath program that is constantly reloading.
