We head west to the Western Foothills conference next, with some really impressive younger talent around the Hickory area and Lincoln County. Check out our picks for the all conference team below.

Little is a dynamic point guard who should be in line to lead his team to another successful year this upcoming season. He’s shifty, quick, and all the right things you want as a lead guard who can get paint touches and disrupt the defense. He pushes the ball and plays with a lot of pace in both transition and the half court. Getting better and better as a three point shooter as well which makes him even more of an all court threat. He and Hickory have a chance to be even better this year.
Last Season Stats – 10.1 PPG, 2.3 APG, 40 3PM
VanBeurden is a young guard continuing to improve and should be in line to lead his St. Stephen’s group to an improved finish this year. He’s a very capable shooter off the catch, exhibited by his 40 3 pointers made, and knows how to spot up and find the right shot at the right time. Also very unselfish and aware of the game around him, not hogging the ball or trying to make a hero play. This discipline will go a long way as the lead man in his sophomore year.

Sanders, along with his teammate Kellen Karr Kellen Karr 6’5″ | SF North Lincoln | 2025 State NC , is in line to have a jump over his junior year at NLHS. He’s a good shooter that knocked down a lot of threes last year, but does have some efficiency concerns that can be attributed to his high usage rate. He’s another high IQ guy that is looking to make the right pass, not the one that benefits him the most. Coachable and high character, Sanders should be an integral part of Noth Lincoln’s improved season this year.

Last Season Stats – 14.2 PPG, 10.7 RPG, 4.9 APG
Karr is such a hybrid player that should receive much more attention this season with all that he brings to the court. He’s a 6’5 point forward with a tight handle and playmaking instincts that are hard to find at his size. Very crafty and intelligent with the windows and passes his makes, using his length to his advantage. Has the size and lateral movement to switch and match up with guards, wings and forwards. Should be a huge stockriser over the next 12 months if all goes to plan.
Last Season Stats – 15.1 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 75 3PM
Fannon is a marksman from the perimeter and his true 6’7 frame makes him a can’t miss target for schools that are looking for a true stretch forward. He plays hard and is physical for his frame, which makes him playable on the interior at the next level. He’s not wowing anyone as a rim protector or rebounder, but does it at a slightly above average level in order to help his team. Ideally, he’s going to play as a floor spacer and ball screener, finding shots all over the court. He’ll make an even bigger impact this year and I’m excited to see how he can diversify his game.

Holbrook is a physically dominant, high academic big that should be all over D2/D3 radars as an interior presence who can control games. Primarily a rebounding threat on defense, he doesn’t have a bunch of vertical pop but a whole lot of strength and toughness. He’ll drive you out and hoover the boards up, as well as wall up versus guards looking in the paint. Solid offensive player who finishes consistently around the basket and doesn’t do anything too crazy. Quietly an underrated name that will be a solid player in college.
