This year? The Trojans are the top dog coming in but this league has HALF of the preseason Class AAAA top ten! Here is the Lake Preview!
Conference Commentary
Top Ten in State: Wayzata, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Buffalo, Eden Prairie
Five of the top ten class AAAA teams in state (preseason) are from the Lake. That’s an incredible number. Wayzata has the top senior in the state, a couple returning players from their rotation, a ton of talent coming up from their younger levels, and a top transfer. Hopkins has a backcourt trio that put up huge numbers last year returning, Tonka has three starters and key reserves back, Buffalo has everybody back save their star from last year, and EP might be the most talented team in the state next season based on what they have in the junior, sophomore and freshmen groups this year. It’s a beast of a league this winter.
Top Ten in State Potential: Edina
People in Edina are pry insulted by being picked six of seven and I have to tell you all, I have you 12th in Class AAAA right now! I think you are one of the twelve best teams coming into the season in Class AAAA after your 15-12 season from a year ago. And when you are listed at 12th, that means you can jump right into the top ten. And considering the Lake teams make up spots 6,8,9 and 10, you are right there and we believe you can make the move.
Compete with Most: STMA
STMA was 8-19 last year but we think big things are coming. They have some very good classes of talent coming up in the junior and freshmen groups. There might be lumps this year but they will soon have a chance to give out some lumps.
