A good argument could also be made for Waterloo Christian’s Drew Wagner Drew Wagner 6'3" | PF Waterloo Christian | 2024 State IA here, but we’re going to go with Marquart, who we expect to have a massive junior year for a Raiders team that has dominated the division in recent years.
First Team
2025 Dylan Marquart Dylan Marquart 6'1" | SG Dunkerton | 2025 State IA (Dunkerton): 13.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.3 steals
The Raiders will be a new-look team following the graduations of Preston Gillespie and Casey Gardner, but Marquart, a big-time shooter and capable playmaker, is ready to step into the starring role and keep things rolling in Dunkerton. He’s a shifty athlete with a quick trigger off the dribble and the catch who was absolutely dominant as a three-level scorer throughout the summer.
2024 Drew Wagner Drew Wagner 6'3" | PF Waterloo Christian | 2024 State IA (Waterloo Christian): 23.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.8 steals, 60.2 FG%
Wagner was dominant last season for the Regents, using his physicality and soft touch around the rim to control the glass and score in bunches. He certainly could’ve been the pick for POY.
2024 Eli Schmidt Eli Schmidt 5'8" | PG Clarksville | 2024 State IA (Clarksville): 17.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.8 steals
Schmidt is a big-time scorer who is at his best when he’s playing downhill and getting into the teeth of the defense. He should have plenty of opportunities to score and create for his teammates again this season for the Indians after the only other double-figure scorer graduated.
2025 Ben Belew (Don Bosco): 13.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals
Belew had a really good season for the Dons as a sophomore and should step into an even bigger scoring role as a junior following the graduation of Ty Purdy, who averaged over 22 points a game. Belew can create for himself and his teammates and contributes on the glass.
2025 Johnny Adams (Riceville): 14.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.0 steals
Riceville won just four games last season, but Adams was a bright spot, putting up 14 points a game and leading the team in assists. If the Wildcats are going to be improved this season (five of the top six return), he’ll be the major reason why.
Second Team
2026 Eli Evans (Waterloo Christian)
2025 Hayden Loftsgard (Tripoli)
2025 Sam Hoodjer (Clarksville)
2026 Zach Belew (Don Bosco)
