The Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo was a sell out this past Sunday. Understandably this results in a deep and talented field. Coverage at such a big event can be difficult. Players were broken into 20 teams. I'll break up the teams into four groups. Providing a decent overview of players who stood out to me throughout the event.

Team 11

Cornelius (CJ) Hearn 6-3 2026 Westland John Glenn Aggressive scoring wing with excellent size and length. Plays with maturity and composure despite being a young prospect. Formerly at the loaded Romulus Summit North Academy program. I will be curious to see how he assimilates at Westland John Glenn.

[player_tooltip player_id='1622934' first='Xavier' last='Hassan'] 6-3 2024 St Clair Shores Lakeview In this scout's humble opinion. One of the better all around performers on the day. Felt like every time I looked up he was scoring. Did it in a wide variety of ways as well. Has a strong and athletic frame that he was not afraid to throw around.

[player_tooltip player_id='1588179' first='Jackson' last='Bowden'] 6-4 2026 Davison One of the better 2026 prospects in the always deep Flint area. I was impressed with Bowden at an elite camp in Ferris back in June. Looks like he has continued to develop both physically and skill wise within that short period of time. Definitely a prospect to monitor statewide in the 2026 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1463233' first='Ben' last='Heagle'] 6-6 2024 Byron Center Hailing from a program full of athletes like fellow camp participant [player_tooltip player_id='1300877' first='Jayden' last='Brock'] and 2025 standout [player_tooltip player_id='1157486' first='Camden' last='Karel']. Heagle belongs right in the same rarefied air. Heagle combines strength and girth with above rim athleticism. Is accordingly an excellent finisher at the cup. Also gets out well in transition.

Team 12

[player_tooltip player_id='2057684' first='John' last='Bardelli'] 5-10 2024 Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern Excellent ball handler who played with his head up. Appeared to have good court awareness that helped him make up for a lack of size. Aggressive and competitive player who did back down from anyone all day.

Kyren Noble 6-3 2026 Muskegon As the Big Red program begins to retool their backcourt. They do so with one of the breakout performers in the entire 2026 class in [player_tooltip player_id='1805260' first='James' last='Martin']. Noble's play on Saturday made it plain that he could be a part of that retooling as well. The versatility is what stood out to me. Is skilled to play on the perimeter. However has a thick enough frame and tenacity to play down low.

[player_tooltip player_id='2112202' first='Connor' last='Johnson'] 6-6 2026 Grand Rapids Christian Joins [player_tooltip player_id='2058637' first='Shannon' last='Henderson'] on the “all airport” team. As a prospect who just looks the part. With a frame simply built to play the game of basketball. Is long and lanky but also shows surprising wiry strength. I really liked him this summer with Lindsey Hunter Elite. It will be interesting to see his role this year in a very deep Christian program.

Team 13

[player_tooltip player_id='1587828' first='Ethan' last='Dorsett'] 5-8 2024 Detroit Jalen Rose Leadership Academy (pictured) Consummate pass first point guard prospect. On the small side. However gets his team out quickly in transition. Is a good look ahead passer. Plays with his head up and on a swivel.

Chance Houser 6-3 2026 Romulus Summit Academy North Scoring wing who displayed a high level of maturity and upside on Saturday. Frame and athletic ability allowed him to easily shoot over most defenders. The Dragons are very good right now but also have a lot of young talent in the pipeline. Houser is in a good developmental situation.

[player_tooltip player_id='1437572' first='Jesse' last='Cull'] 6-7 2025 Flint Powers Catholic Smooth a sweet shooting prototypical stretch four prospect. Possibly even a three if he continues to develop. Should get a full junior campaign at Powers. After having sit out last year due to a transfer. Excited to see what his last two years will hold.

[player_tooltip player_id='2132177' first='Luke' last='Marcial'] 6-5 2025 Rochester Adams I was really intrigued in my first viewing of this prospect. Attacked the basket and appeared to be a creative finisher around the basket. Has good enough size and skill to swing between the three and four spots. However the aforementioned aggression got the best of him as he took a hard fall. Curtailing his promising start in the game I was watching. Despite a change in head coaches. The Adams program in on the upswing following quarterfinal appearance. If Marcial plays like he did on Saturday. There should not be much drop off in upcoming seasons.

Team 14

Cortez Porter 5-9 2026 Davison [player_tooltip player_id='1588179' first='Jackson' last='Bowden'] will not be alone in the Cardinals 2026 class. Porter is not very big but is already a defensive dynamo. Makes up for size with heavy intensity on both ends of the court. If he continues to develop. Could allow 2025 national standout [player_tooltip player_id='1437574' first='Greg' last='Lawson'] to play off the ball in the future

[player_tooltip player_id='2027554' first='Carter' last='Gensch'] 6-4 2024 Hemlock From a small school but has a big time game. A legitimate full time two guard at 6-4. Excellent shooter who gets it off with ease and little wasted motion. Is more than capable of playing the point if needed. As he is also a good ball handler. Moves well off the ball and had a nice finger roll finish down the baseline. Increased his strength and assertiveness with an excellent summer on the Prep Hoops Circuit.

[player_tooltip player_id='1437568' first='Dempsey' last='Cull'] 6-7 2025 Flint Powers Catholic Like his twin brother Jesse. Should be ready to go this year after having sit out last year as a transfer. The shooting has always been there. Now is skilled enough that he might be able to slide into a backcourt slot long term. After being down for a bit. Powers could be a real sleeper coming out of the Flint area.

Spencer Scott 6-6 2025 Warren De La Salle Michael Sulaka is leaving quite a hole in the Pilots frontline as he moves onto become a Western Michigan Bronco. While I have seen other players who will vie to replace him. This was my first time seeing Scott. I was impressed with his athleticism. Ran the court well and got up to the rim quickly. There are literally big shoes to fill down on the block in Warren. Scott is in an excellent developmental environment and could be coached up to the task.

Vincent Salmon 6-8 2025 Brighton Along with [player_tooltip player_id='2058637' first='Shannon' last='Henderson']. The tallest player in the expo. However has a completely different frame than Henderson. Where Henderson is skinny and long. Salmon is thick and sturdy. However isn't sacrificing much in term of athleticism. Still ran the court well and showed decent lateral quickness. Also displayed a soft touch around the basket.

Team 15

Dekarai Rogers II 5-9 2024 Detroit Henry Ford Really liked this PSL point guard at a Ferris camp a few months ago. Continued to impress on Saturday. Is one the harder working perimeter defenders you will see. Isn't attempting to make friends or compete in some type of all star game. He is there to compete. I really think he will make a small college coach happy somewhere.

[player_tooltip player_id='1587857' first='Tarren' last='Calvert'] 5-11 2025 Wyoming Another in a long line of impressive Wyoming players from the past few months. Calvert turned defense into offense quickly and was a real threat out in transition. With Rogers on his squad was able to play a little more off the ball on Saturday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1420408' first='Jacob' last='Pleyer'] 6-3 2026 Watervliet Promising start to his career took a bit of an early detour. As an injury shortened his freshman season. Looked healthy and ready to go on Saturday. Appeared bigger and a little more filled out from when I last saw him. Used this size and strength to get to the rim easily. Also has a smooth and easy release away from the basket. Still trending towards being one of the top players in Michigan's 2026 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1793921' first='Jaylohn' last='Allen'] 6-1 2026 Wayne Memorial Speaking of top players in the 2026 class. Allen is headed in that direction as well. Is an effortless abd composed perimeter playmaker. Makes everything look so easy. Has a nice shot and is a good penetrator. Appears more comfortable playing off the ball. Should form one of the better future backcourts in the stare for the Zebras with fellow 2026 standout [player_tooltip player_id='1793650' first='Carlos' last='Medlock Jr.']
