The Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo was a sell out this past Sunday. Understandably this results in a deep and talented field. Coverage at such a big event can be difficult. Players were broken into 20 teams. I'll break up the teams into four groups. Providing a decent overview of players who stood out to me throughout the event.

Team 6

[player_tooltip player_id='1588171' first='Owen' last='Ribel'] 6-2 2026 Traverse City Central Younger brother of one the top players in Northern Michigan. After a good summer with Michigan Unified on the Adidas circuit. Is starting to develop and come into his own physically. Good shooter who operated well in the mid range. Has a mature game and doesn't play like an underclassmen. Should lead a good group of young Trojans along with fellow camp participant [player_tooltip player_id='1588185' first='Brendan' last='Slack']. A long and lean 2026 prospect as well.

Hayota Yoshida 6-1 2025 Grand Ledge Physical well built point guard prospect from the greater Lansing area. As an aside, it feels like that prototype of player was all over the gym Saturday. Competed hard defensively and and went hard to the basket. Took a few licks and kept on coming. Could form a nice future backcourt with fellow 2025 and camp participant Carson Daly.

[player_tooltip player_id='2077522' first='Brendan' last='Nesbary'] 6-4 2024 Wyoming If you follow me in this space. You know the story of my late summer evaluations has bee. the depth of talent in the Wyoming program. Most of the Wolves are quite young. Nesbary is the veteran of the group. More importantly plays like it. Is kind of “bull in china shop” post prospect. Has thick but explosive frame. Competes hard and does not appear to mind contact. Wrapped up the grassroots season strong with BNB Basketball on the Prep Hoops Circuit.

[player_tooltip player_id='1300916' first='Zander' last='Nash'] 6-7 2025 Imaly City Nash showed off his usual versatility. Has the ability to play both at the rim and out away from the basketball. Aided in this by a long lanky frame. Will need to add weight and strength to take the next step in his development. Competed hard on the defensive end as well.

Team 7

I do my best to try and catch everyone. However team #7 was a bit of a blind spot for me. I would encourage you it check out the work of our other scouts for coverage of the players on that squad.

Team 8

[player_tooltip player_id='1811795' first='Craig' last='Hureskin'] 6-1 2024 Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills (pictured) A late addition to the field. Hureskin did what he always does. Efficient perimeter scoring. The shooting has always been there in bunches. However as he showed all summer with All In Sports. Has really diversified his offensive attack as well. Is a good penetrator with a clever float game. This floater helps him make up for a lack of ideal size at the two spot.

[player_tooltip player_id='2085952' first='Ali' last='Hassan'] 6-3 2024 Utica This was my first time catching this prospect. I came away impressed. Not sure of what his position. However what he is— is a good all around basketball player. Aggressive player who found multiple ways to score. The kids would call him a “bucket”. Has a stocky but athletic frame that he is not shy about throwing around. Part of a strong Utica contingent. The metro Detroit area is so deep with talented teams. Utica went about five deep at the showcase. I will curious to see if that hard work in the fall translates to a big season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560541' first='Drew' last='Brooks'] 6-2 2025 Muskegon Reeths-Puffer Brooks was a smooth and confident scorer. As you can see from above. This was notable as he was on a team full of them. Knew how to pick his spots and find open looks. Seemed to be most comfortable in the mid range. Should have no problem finding open looks in the regular season. The Rockets senior duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1112299' first='Jaxson' last='Whitaker'] (Ferris St commit) and [player_tooltip player_id='1356946' first='Travis' last='Ambrose'] should open the court up pretty well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2058637' first='Shannon' last='Henderson'] 6-8 2025 Stockbridge Wins the “all airport” team. For younger readers. That is a an old Dick Vitale term for the of player that just looks the part. Henderson will win that award in almost any setting. Has eye popping physical gifts and a frame meant to play the game of basketball. Ignore the height listing. With his length essentially plays like a player 6-10 or higher. It is more just looks though. The substance is there as well. Played much more aggressive than when I first saw him at a Ferris St elite camp a few months ago. Blocks shots with ease and had nice dunk in transition. Runs the court fluidly. The upside is immense with this prospect.

Team 9

[player_tooltip player_id='1936947' first='Tristan' last='Demlow'] 5-11 2025 Grayling Last time I saw this Northern Michigan product at a showcase. His promising play was truncated by an ankle injury. Stayed healthy and got his full worth on Saturday. Is probably never going to be the type of player where statistics jump off the page. As he is a traditional pass first point guard. However he is a very good passer who sees the court well. That was especially apparent on Saturday. Also has a well put together frame atypical for point guards. If the outside shot comes together. Could really take his game to the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1223497' first='Nathan' last='Johnson'] 6-5 2024 Grand Rapids Christian The highest ranked player in the field. However more importantly played like it. Showed off his next level athleticism with numerous above the rim finishes. Many of them quite emphatic. Is more than just a dunker though. Is a good ball handler. Combined with the elevation allows him to get his spots easily on the perimeter. Is an extremely fluid athlete who is one of the best open court players in the entire state.

[player_tooltip player_id='1601802' first='Georyeon' last='Cannon'] 6-2 2026 Grand Blanc Statewide watchers continue to wait for the Bobcats to have a down year. With players like this in the pipeline. I don't see that happening anytime soon. Canon played with confidence among his talented older teammates. Showed the ability to create his own shot off the dribble. Didn't force things. Displaying maturity and patience offensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2218036' first='Mathias' last='Bray'] 6-5 2025 South Haven While the wings for team #9 were flying all over the court. Bray was holding things down on the block. Easy to do with his wide and sturdy frame. Had good hands and a soft touch around the basket. Should form a good future front court with fellow camp participant 6-5 2026 stretch four Isaac Chalupa.

[player_tooltip player_id='1300877' first='Jayden' last='Brock'] 6-5 2024 Byron Center I mentioned Johnson being “one” of the best open court players in the state. That qualifier is necessary because of players like Brock. A freakish athlete with eye opening physical dimensions. The leaping ability is augmented by a “condor” level wingspan and huge hands. A three time camp participant. It has been fun to watch him develop over the years. The perimeter game continues to come along. Had an excellent summer with United Persuit.

Team 10

[player_tooltip player_id='1870298' first='Jacek' last='Haight'] 5-11 2024 Allendale In a 2024 class loaded with them. One of the better shooters you will see. Is more than just a standstill shooter though. Gets his looks by being in constant motion off the ball. Comes off of screens well. Catches the ball in the shooting motion and has a trigger quick release. Formed a devastating duo with Hureskin this summer on the Prep Hoops Circuit. It was nice to see them match up at the end of the showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='2217990' first='Alex' last='Genuise'] 6-2 2025 Allendale Joining Haight on team #10 was his regular season teammate. Genuise is a little bigger than Haight. However the soccer standout plays off him well. As their team went 3-0 on the day. Allendale was well represented Jacksen Fitten participating as well. The Falcons have a new head coach and three solid players to build around.

[player_tooltip player_id='1429044' first='Derek' last='Sanders'] 6-5 Brooklyn Columbia Central After a good summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2077017' first='Grand' last='Rapids Storm']. Sanders made the trek back to west side to show his rapidly expanding game. Has an excellent frame with broad shoulders and thick upper body. Comes from a small school but has continually tested himself in grassroots basketball. Often playing up an age division. Is shows with how well he competes at showcases like this. Is making gains and still has two full years to develop.
