The 20th annual installment of the event brought together around 200 prospects form 13 different states and featured two of California’s best sophomores. Below we break down some of the top performers from the classes of 2027 and 2028.
Eric Wooten, 2027, Orange Vista
Wooten showed really good feel around the basket. He had a variety of scoring moves he went to with his back to the basket, touch with either hand and used his strong 6-foot-5 frame to initiate, absorb and finish through contact.
Heath French Heath French 6'3" | SF St. Pat-St. Vin | 2027 State CA-N , 2027, Branson
French is an intriguing wing-type with size, feel and athleticism for the position. At 6-feet-3, the incoming freshman showed the ball skills to break down defenders in isolation and get to the rim where he finished through contact or elevated and extend past rim protectors for downhill baskets.
Johnny Thyfault, 2027, Viewpoint
In the first few games on Saturday there was an unmistakeable noise coming from the opposite court and it was one of someone dunking the ball with authority. That turned out to be Thyfault, a 6-foot-3 wing/forward, whose explosiveness, physicality and willingness to seek out and play through contact stood out in this event.
Justin Johnson, 2027, El Camino
Johnson had a breakout performance at the Creme of the County earlier this month and followed that up with another impressive effort at the Pangos All-West Frosh/Soph Camp. Johnson is a long, wiry and bouncy wing who thrives in the open court setting with his ability to fill lanes and slash his way to the cup.
Siincere Hudson Siincere Hudson 6'2" | SG Inderkum | 2027 State CA-N , 2027, Inderkum
I really liked Hudson’s willingness to allow the game to come to him and not try to force feed himself on the offensive end. The 6-foot-1 combo guard has an impressive frame already with plenty of room to add to. Hudson drained catch and shoot three’s when they came his way, exploded into open space and finished through contact in the lane and defended multiple positions at a high level.
