Stewart is a stock up player, with an evolving game. He had a monster block, that wasn’t seen nearly as much as it was heard. He competed with an edge which is becoming his trademark. The wing’s perimeter skills have improved and he showcased them with his grab and go and slashing ability today. His stretching out of his game included threes knocked down in catch and shoot situations.
Watching Sierra Vista play you get the feeling that Staton can dominate games without scoring a point. He blocked everything on Saturday, making defenders see ghost. The 7 footer had several players pump faking the minute they entered the paint. On the offensive side, his hands are improved and he caught the ball and finished around the rim.
Highlights
Shaw has the look of a Gatorade POY. He makes scoring look so effortlessly. His threes barely move the net and he seems to glide in transition, only choosing to turn it over and hammer home a dunk if a body is an added benifit. Showed good skill and toughness, getting hammered on multiple occasions, bouncing up, and knocking down free throws.
Highlights
A player that keeps earning attention and catching eyeballs. He made a big play to win the game, stealing the ball, and converting for the game winner, Elam ending style. He’s shifty enough to get just enough space for his shot. It always looks as if he’s getting his shot off just over an outstretched hand. The sophmore guard showed a good combination of grit and skill.
Highlights
Perhaps Jefferson is a name to throw out for POY. The guard is starting to rise to the top of the Gorman hierarchy with pitbull tenacity. He got wherever he wanted on the floor, and a lot of times that included the rim. Was terrific in his on ball defense, using quick hands to harrass opposing ballhandlers.

Cunningham looked like one of the top players in the state is supposed to against pre-season competition. He scored at will in transition, and was able to lock up on defense. He showed big time explosiveness hammering home a windmill dunk in transition.
