The event featured high level competition and great games, as well as prospects for colleges of all levels moving forward.
Here’s a look at part 1 of some of the top 2025 performers at the event.
Aiden Argabright Aiden Argabright 6'0" | PG John Marshall | 2025 State #220 Nation VA | 6’1” PG | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes
Argabright was flat out fantastic for SSSAS leading them to a 2-0 record against a good CBG Elite and a John Marshall team that was nationally ranked last year, and he showed why he’s the perfect point guard to have if you’re looking to win a lot of basketball games. He’s a true floor general who handles pressure well and gets the team into sets, but he can also make things happen when there’s nothing there as well. He is shifty off the bounce and gets to spots where he shoots it very well off the pull-up, he touches the paint effortlessly and is very crafty with the ability to draw contact and get to the line often and he has great feel on both ends of the floor that allows him to make big plays in a number of ways.
Riley Jacobs Riley Jacobs 6'8" | C St. Stephen's & St. Agnes | 2025 State VA | 6’8” PF | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes
Jacobs didn’t have his best performance that we’ve seen as he was one of the biggest breakout prospects in VA this summer, but when it came to playing one of the top teams in the state in John Marshall he made his presence known in a big way with his athleticism and energy he brought to the table. The 6’8” forward showed his ability to get out in transition and play above the rim when he gets downhill, he showed his defensive versatility with the ability to switch and also come help side to protect the rim and he showed his ability to handle the ball on the perimeter and his ability as a passer as well.
Donovan Richardson Donovan Richardson 6'6" | PG Steward | 2025 State #166 Nation VA | 6’5” CG | Steward School
Richardson moved to Steward from Collegiate this summer and he showed this past weekend that he will be their go-to ball handler and decision maker, and he played well in that role making plays for both himself and others off the bounce. He showed good wiggle off the bounce with a tight handle and touched the paint frequently, he made shots from multiple levels off the bounce and he controlled the tempo and got everyone involved in a camp setting which is always good to see from a lead guard.
Xavier Nelson Xavier Nelson 6'4" | SF Steward School | 2025 State VA | 6’3” WF | Steward School
Nelson is one of the more underrated players in the Richmond area as he is super productive on both ends of the floor and he brought great energy to his team with his high motor and toughness that he played with. He’s a long wing who knows how to use his length to help him finish in traffic and rebound in crowds as well, he defends hard and makes the hustle plays regularly and he produces across the board and makes winning plays for his team.
Prince Kabera | 6’7” F | Mt. Zion
Kabera spent last year playing on Mt. Zion’s post grad team and this year he’ll be one of the stars for their high school team, as he looked much improved and has also gotten taller and filled out since last year. He showed his versatility playing both on the wing and in the paint making him a mismatch, he made athletic plays around the rim as a finisher and a rebounder and he showed good ball skills with the ability to make shots and put it on the deck as well.
Marcus Jackson Marcus Jackson 6'8" | C John Marshall | 2025 State #161 Nation VA | 6’9” PF | John Marshall
Jackson joined an already stacked JM squad after moving to Richmond from Baltimore, and while he’s still figuring out how to play with them and didn’t put up huge numbers he still showed a lot of the tools that makes him a nationally ranked big man. He moves very well as he gets up and down the floor and is very explosive for his size, he protects the rim and rebounds well in and out his area and he shows good touch out to the midrange as well.
