Washington made a lot of noise at Midwest Live for Margaretta and was also a standout on the Ohio Buckets 15 U team. A wiry athlete who uses his quick burst, length and explosiveness to get by the primary defender and attack the basket. Able to play on or off the ball right now, Washington makes the right pass to start the fast break for his team often. So far I’ve only seen Washington consistently knock down mid-range shots, so seeing how he expands his range to behind the 3-point line is an area I’ll be focusing on as he develops. Already holding an offer from Charleston (WV), I expect more schools to come calling in the next 12 months.

A teammate with Washington on the Buckets 15 U squad this spring/summer, Elwer is one of the most productive guards in the state from the class of 2026. Tough, impressive shot maker with a high IQ, Elwer already impacts winning at a high level. A multi-sport stud as he also stands out on the baseball diamond, it’ll be interesting to see which sport Elwer gets more recruiting attention for as he progresses as an athlete.
After a strong freshman season with Wyoming, who have a lot of talent in their 2026 class, Wiley was superb for Midwest Basketball Club Gold Cincy 15 U this spring. One of the toughest covers at the point guard position with his wiggle, ability to attack and finish with either hand plus his impressive passing, Wiley can do a lot from the point guard spot. His best skill might be his left hand, which allows him to attack and finish going either direction, making it tough to stay in front of him. As a defender, Wiley has good physical tools and is a hound on ball. Biggest area of improvement for Wiley will be his jump-shot as it’s still progressing right now. Big fan of what he brings to the table from the lead guard position and a guy you’ll be hearing about a lot in the Cincy region over the next few years.

Another prospect who burst onto the scene this summer, Johnson had an excellent June with Toledo Central Catholic where he established himself as one of the top 2026 guards in the state. Long, good body, physical, are all traits used to describe Johnson. Shifty on the ball when attacking, Johnson can play on or off the ball at the guard spot and had a couple sweet spin moves into layup finishes. His guard skills also show as a passer where he makes touch passes quickly that get the ball in the right spot. Really coming into his own as a player right now, the jumps I project Johnson to make over the next two years will give him the chance to be one of the top players in the Toledo area by the time he’s a senior.
