Preston Moore Preston Moore 5’10” | SG Cary Academy | 2027 State NC is a talented name to watch in the independent school ranks out of the 919 as a confident floor general who is an all-around offensive weapon. He’s comfortable with the ball in his hands, able to beat defenders off the dribble and stay strong. Also a true point guard with respect to finding his teammates, as well as being able to score the ball on his own. Very confident and assertive leader who is able to make his teammates better but also takes over games when he needs to. He’ll compete for minutes alongside some talented guards in the CA rotation, but will find playing time and an ability to make an impact this winter.

Herring is potentially the next big name out of the 252, a combo guard who wowed people at the FAB 40 showcase and ready to impact the game at Kinston High. He’s effective at all three levels of the court as a scorer, attacking the rim with tenacity and able to hit jumpers within the flow of the offense. He’s definitely an off the bounce kind of guy, but also able to take a complementary role and space the floor and knock down shots. He’ll also play above the rim already, with rim-rattling potential. He should be able to impact early at Kinston High, and hopefully play his way onto more radars quickly.
Emerson transferred to GDS and reclassed, giving him 4 more years at the high school level. He’s a lefty wing that is very versatile and acts as a connector across the floor. On offense he has great vision and ability to space and see the floor, one of the higher IQ and aware guys in his grade. Defensively he has athleticism to guard wings and guards, and the size to match up against some forwards. He’s springy and a great help side shot blocker. Overall, he’s a Swiss Army knife that does a bit of everything, and should find a role with GDS this year somewhere in the frontcourt.
Highlights
Baird is another who has recently reclassed to the 2027 year, but still deserves more attention for how he plays. He’s quick and shifty in open space, making him a primary threat in transition. He gets the cup and is a crafty finisher there, looking to go around guys with finesse rather than through them. Also an assertive and impressive playmaker with the ball in his hands, he has good vision and willingness to find teammates. He’ll be back with QEA this year and hopefully continue to increase his role behind a few impressive guards they already have.
King Gibson
King Gibson
The last prospect on our list may just be the best one, with national attention directed to him from his performances with Team United’s 15U and 14U groups en route to a national championship. He’s incredibly physical for his age, with a slasher’s athleticism and mature decision making at the rim. His frame allows him to guard multiple positions and play different spots on the floor, increasing what coaches can do with him. He’ll be joining a loaded squad at TBS this year, with room to both see playing time as well as learn from the many talented guards they already have.
