2027 Rankings: Top Point Guards

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's very early to rank the freshman class but off the momentum of last week's Freshman Showcase in Louisville and the names that played varsity last season, we already have 70 players in our first ever 2027 rankings. It's only a starting point for rankings and the list will grow and change with each coming update but we have enough information to start our 2027 rankings. Here's a look at the top point guard prospects in the class. Dayes is a high level athlete who is a growth spurt away from potentially being a big time basketball recruit. He's also a three sport star who is one of the best 2027 football players in Kentucky and a star on the baseball diamond. Kade is not a great shooter right now but plays super hard and is a tenacious on ball defender. The youngest school in the KHSAA, Ja'Rye already has a starting season under his belt and is going to be the rare 5 year starter in Louisville. On the court, Brown is skilled and has a good first step and is a willing passer. Trent has a quick release and deep range on his jumper. I'd like to see Trent be more of a playmaker and creator with the ball in his hands as opposed to looking to score first but I'm sure Harlan relies on him to score the ball and it can be hard to switch gears sometimes. Shy is quick and skilled and makes some fantastic passes when he's got the ball in the open floor. His biggest area for improvement I saw at the Freshman showcase was to have his motor running at all times.
