With the final live period of the summer coming up (besides the NCAA camps), we thought it would be a good time to take a look at some of the prospects who have seen their recruitment pick up the most. We will take a look at those prospects who have picked up division offers so far this summer, and a little about their game. Here's a look at part two of the 2025 VA prospects who have new schools recruiting them this summer.

Spring/Summer Offers: VT, Manhattan, Norfolk State, VCU, Radford

Jonres had a good sophomore season but didn't have a lot of college interest coming into the summer, and that all changed very quickly when he got with Team Loaded 16s and showed his big time upside in a frame that checks all the boxes moving forward. At 6'7” he's already strong and will see his body continue to fill out as he grows into it, he is a big time athlete who plays above the rim when he gets out in transition, he can make shots from deep when left open and he has great instincts being around the ball as a rebounder and defender. He's still got a lot of room to get better moving forward, and he'll have loads of college coaches paying attention to him over the next few years.

Spring/Summer Offers: Bryant, ODU, Loyola (MD), Norfolk State, George Washington, Mount St. Mary's

Jacobs has emerged as one of the best prospects in the DMV area in the 2025 class, as he's had a huge summer with New World and was impressive with his SSSAS team at DMV Live. The 6'7” forward is a model of production and efficiency as he knows his game and plays to his strengths, he gets up and down the floor well and is an athletic finisher around the rim, he continues to improve his perimeter skillset with the ability to knock down shots and put it on the deck and he owns the paint as a rebounder and defender. He'll likely move up our rankings when we update them and he'll have a steady stream of college coaches coming to watch him play.

Spring/Summer Offers: Radford, Loyola (MD)

Argabright is Jacobs' running mate both in AAU and in the high school setting, and he's had himself a great summer as well as he's proving to be one of the top young guards in the DMV both as a facilitator and a scorer. He's shifty off the bounce with a tight handle and the ability to change speeds with good burst, he touches the paint effortlessly and is very good at drawing contact and gets to the line quite a bit, he can make shots from multiple levels and he has tremendous feel and makes good decisions in transition and in the half court set. He may still be a little under the radar as far as recruitment goes, but it will come as he continues to garner more attention with his big time play.

Desmon Rose | 6'6” PF | John Marshall

Prep Hoops VA Ranking: #20

Spring/Summer Offers: Jacksonville State

Rose was the sixth man for the very talented John Marshall team that was nationally ranked last season, and this summer with Team Loaded NC he showed his big upside moving forward as a hybrid forward who can make plays on both ends of the floor. He is very mobile for his size with the ability to get up and down the floor and he moves well laterally, he can play above the rim in transition and on put backs, he can make shots from deep and he's developing his ability to put it on the deck and get to the rim too. He picked up his first offer and the more he'll play with their national schedule he'll see more and more schools show him attention.

[player_tooltip player_id='1494114' first='David' last='Miller'] | 6'6” PF | Green Run

Prep Hoops VA Ranking: #24

Spring/Summer Offers: Ohio

Miller has already made a name for himself as one of the top players in the Beach, and he already holds a few offers before he picked up Ohio this summer. At 6'6” Miller has a versatility to him that is intriguing as he's strong and explosive enough to clear out space and play above the rim in the paint, he has good ball skills with the ability to step out on the perimeter and make shots, he's a good passer both finding cutters and kicking out of double teams and he is a good rebounder as well. He's a new age forward who fits a lot of systems and he still has room to get better moving forward.

Prep Hoops VA Ranking: #25

Spring/Summer Offers: Ohio

Newton has been a starter for a talented Maury team that has been very successful since he was a freshman, and so this summer with Team Loaded 757 he was one of the best guards on the HGSL and saw coaches start to recruit him with his first offer from Ohio. He's a very talented lead guard who has great speed with the ball in his hands and can touch the paint effortlessly, he can create space and size up defenders and make shots off the bounce, he is a very good on ball defender who moves his feet and has quick hands and he has great feel and instincts on both ends of the floor. He has a winning type of game that will translate in many ways to the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1494112' first='Troy' last='Henderson'] | 5'10” PG | John Marshall

Prep Hoops VA Ranking: #32

Spring/Summer Offers: Mount St. Mary's, Ohio

Henderson is another talented guard who led Lancaster to the Class 1 State Championship and was named the VHSL Class 1 Player of the Year, and he's transferring to John Marshall this year and played well for them at Virginia and DC Live while also having a good summer with Team Loaded VA. The 5'10” point guard makes the game look easy as he is shifty off the bounce and changes speeds well to touch the paint and make plays for others, he can knock down shots from deep and in the midrange area off the bounce, he is a good on ball defender and he has good feel as a playmaker and defender. He holds a number of offer already and he'll have plenty of attention on him moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1328950' first='Chancellor' last='Perkins'] | 6'1” SG | Highland

Prep Hoops VA Ranking: #34

Spring/Summer Offers: College of Charleston

Perkins is one of the more underrated players in the DMV, as he was a huge impact for Highland in their run to the state championship and he played well for them during DMV Live where he picked up his first offer from College of Charleston. Perkins is a microwave scoring guard who can fill it up quickly and in bunches when he gets it going, he has effortless range out past the NBA line, he can get to spots off the bounce and score it in the midrange and he can finish around the rim as well. His ability to score the ball from all three levels translates well and on a winning team with lots of talent he will see his recruitment take off more and more.

[player_tooltip player_id='1339892' first='Julian' last='Rivera'] | 6'1” PG | Highland

Spring/Summer Offers: College of Charleston

Rivera isn't in our 2025 rankings because he reclassified from the 2024 class after our latest update, and he picked up his first offer from C of C as well after his strong play with Team Loaded NC and Highland this summer. He's simply a winner who is highly skilled as both a scorer and a facilitator, he makes shots from all three levels efficiently, he has great feel and vision as a playmaker and he has a toughness about him that gives him the ability to guard the other team's best perimeter player even when they're much bigger. He is the type of player who will do whatever it takes to win and makes his team better on both ends of the floor.
