Here are some notes on many of the 2025 guards I observed while in the gym during June.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242071' first='Amaree' last='Hawkins'] | Riverdale Baptist (MD)

Hawkins is a 6'0” guard who is a dynamic offensive threat. He is effective at getting to his spots from the mid range, fills the lanes correctly in transition, and is a good passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1370503' first='Tyler' last='Jackson'] | St. Frances (MD)

Jackson played an efficient brand of basketball for the Panthers. He always seems in control and loves to attack downhill, but also uses moves such as step backs to keep defenders guessing. Jackson is also a good rebounding guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='1768964' first='Makhye' last='McKnight'] | Douglass (MD)

McKnight is the primary ball-handler and offensive initiator for Douglass. He can pull up on a dime and knock down jumpers. McKnight is a pest on the ball defensively who can pick your pocket.

Chance Perkins | Highland (VA)

Perkins is a knockdown shooter who can put the ball in the hole from multiple levels. He has a myriad of go-to-moves that help him create separation and is a terrific mover off the ball. Perkins is also an unselfish player who will make the extra pass to an open teammate.

[player_tooltip player_id='1339892' first='Julian' last='Rivera'] | Highland (VA)

Rivera is a hard-nosed lead guard that makes winning plays on both ends of the court. Solid on-ball defense is his calling card. Rivera is also adept at getting downhill and finishing with either hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='1351693' first='Kade' last='Sebastian'] | DeMatha (MD)

Sebastian is a reliable playmaker at 6'4". He stuffs the stat sheet defensively in part because of pure hustle. Sebastian is also a team player who frequently assists others for easy shots.

Jacorey Shelton | Spotswood (VA)

Shelton is a good shooter who displays plenty of quickness that makes him menacing while pressuring the ball on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242042' first='Rhodell' last='Wood'] | Forest Park (MD)

Wood is a 6'0" guard who can fill it up offensively. He has deep range from behind the arc but is just as dangerous when mixing it up inside.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242420' first='Cam' last='Yingling'] | Fairfax (VA)

Yingling is an athletic guard with an efficient shooting stroke. He's a threat from three but is also able to get to the rim and finish through contact.
